Why is this game not working no more?

Had to re-install my computer, added all drivers etc and then Steam, installed FM11 and nothing, i have had so many problems with this game these days, why?

Looks like i sorted it, even though i had made sure DirectX was installed and up to date, Steam wanted to use it's own.

I installed another game from my Steam libary, tried to see if that worked, once activated, Steam insisted on installing a DirectX, after doing this, everything now seems to load. I have no dea why FM11, when starting, did not try to download and install this DirectX however, once it had, everything seems to work again now.

Is there an answer for this as once again, this game has stopped working? My pc updated to Win10 and now i can not get it to start at all.

Have you verified the files again? Also reinstall the dirextx again. That seems to be a common problem with these games on win 10.

Many thanks for the reply, i tried what yu suggested however still nothing, i used to get this game to work only by installing another game after, must be something of a update or something but this time nothing.

I will keep trying.

Might be a long shot but go into the game directory and go to the exe and create a shortcut to the desktop for it. Then right click on the shortcut and go to compatibility then change settings for all users and tick run as administrator and choose windows vista as OS. The game might not like been launched via Steam. When I had windows 10 the same thing happened with the Tomb Raider games. They worked from the exe but not Steam.

Anyone know how to get it working again on Windows 10? It was working fine till I tried starting a match and it wouldn't let me. Now it won't let me start the game at all. Does anyone know what it means by 'not well formed invalid token at line 1 of database location.xml? I need to know, because it's so annoying to suddenly have this happen

Try deleting the cache of the game. It is located in appdata roaming. Look for Sports Interactive folder and delete the cache etc folders. Turn hidden files on folders off so you can see the folder.

I already deleted the Cache and the Preference folders, but nothing. Thanks anyway. Anymore suggestions?

Maybe try reinstall the game. Also reinstall directx 9c.

I have tried to change the comparability as mentioned but nothing at all can be found to do this, i am clueless now but will keep looking.

Maybe an odd suggestion but have you placed a shortcut to the game on your desktop and launch from that? When I had windows 10 some games would not launch from Steam but worked fine from desktop icons. This game I have no idea. Went back to windows 7 after one too many games refused to work on windows 10.

Also what graphic card do you have? Intel? AMD or Nvidia?

It's working now. It seems all I needed to do was delete the settings file. Thanks for all the suggestions though

Can you be more specific please? Is this the settings folder in the 'data' folder?

Would installing directx9 not interferre with what is installed already if a newer version is already installed?

Amd Radeon 5700 HD is the card i am using.

Thought i would say that i THOUGHT i had fixedd it, i can get the game to load however every 2nd match and after, the game graphic go very strange, i am starting to hate Win10 lol.
