my initial idea were a few things:
- give people something they can "save" on (their spare duplicates)
- an event like feeling
- to create some kind of limited/being a part of it feeling (like a cool concert you show of your wristband to your friends f.e.)
and for sure i want to keep this game alive and going, because it's free to play i need to get the funding from the steam transactions as you already mentioned
The event is more of a goodie and not a requirement (like all items and the game itself) i want people to collect things and show off their cats
an idea i'm playing with is by increasing the chance for the event items in their respective drop pools so if you get a rare item the chance is significantly higher to get an event item
what are your thoughts on it?
and thanks for the open feedback btw!
"to create some kind of limited/being a part of it feeling" - By doing a craft or opening a drop and its not a event item, its like, am i playing this event? is it installed right? why did i just craft all my duplicates for a non event item? i feel like im on the outside looking in when i see how many event items are on the market. I think if its a event, all the drops should be swapped over to event drops. This makes getting them more obtainable. People can save up there duplicates for events and craft them for event items, chests will have event items. people who are willing to spend money in the market for them with the pricing being low during the event, then sky rocketing once the event is over and they can no longer be crafted / obtained and now there is a limited number of them, but that comes with time and new players looking back on old events to see what they missed and then going back and buying it via market.
with the event being a goodie not requirement, the update says "can you collect them all?" implying it might be possible, my mistake i took it literally. It is a fun event that i do enjoy and wish more games took advantage of, for a day or a month, it brings a breath of fresh air in to games, old and new.
Thanks for taking the time to read my feedback, i appreciate it. Hopefully during events its just event items. I look foward to seeing what solution is found / implemented.
but i fully understand you and thank you for sharing your feelings about it!
<3 thank you so much for the open conversation, means a lot to me!
will take notes on all of this!
i'm also just learning haha :D

Nice work with getting 2 of them
I kinda cheated and sold some tf2 items and bought all the white / green tier skins and a blue one. (along with a bunch of cheap blues for a purple craft and some cheap greens)
So far ive found 1 april fools day item, nothing from crafting.
Getting all the common and uncommon drops, even all the rares is definitely possible, but it's insanely unlikely you'll score even a single one of the legendary drops.
As OP said, it takes 10,000 whites to craft your way to a legendary. Since 1 in 10 drops are green or higher, let's be generous and say it'll take closer to 7,000 drops to craft a legendary. If you were diligently claiming your drops every half hour around the clock without sleeping, that's still over 20 weeks! And then only a 25% chance that legendary will even be one from the event!
"an idea i'm playing with is by increasing the chance for the event items in their respective drop pools so if you get a rare item the chance is significantly higher to get an event item"
I think this would be a great idea! I also suggest making the limited time drops seasonal, so they come back the next year during the same time-frame. I just made a separate discussion about this before finding this thread.
Or if you really want something that's available one time only, maybe just make one single exclusive item each year, but have the rest come back seasonally.
but nothing fully decided yet
I like that idea too!
