crash on race start
hey all. I'm experiencing a issue. When I start a race, after the intro scene the game crashes with it still open and the sound effects still playing in the background. Anyone else having the same issue?

Yes, I am also experiencing the same issue. Does anyone have a solution for this?

For me, I see a little intro sequence for the course and then it crashes as soon as I press to continue. The screen stops displaying the game but the audio is still running, probably looping clips. Everything up to that moment is good though.

I had the same problem on Win10. I solve the problem:
1. Go to the game folder "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing\"
2. Right click on the file "Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing.exe" and open the settings
3. Open the compatibility tab and set it to "Win7 compatibility"
4. Save settings and run the game and enjoy :steamhappy:

Hey, CrimsonShadow11! I just bought this game and I faced the same problem as you. When I entered config mode the first thing I noticed was that the game was using the integrated intel graphics card instead of my NVIDIA GPU. The funny thing is that you can not change this in the game settings (it only recognizes the integrated video card). Anyway, to solve the problem you just have to "force" the use of your GPU in this game. Follow the steps (For NVIDIA video card):

1. Open NVIDIA Settings;
2. In the navigation menu click on "3D Settings", then "Manage 3D settings";
3. Click on "Program Settings" tab and the "Select a program to customize" option, look for "Sonic & SEGA all star racing" and select it;
4. On "Select the preffered graphics processor for this program" option, choose "High-performance NVIDIA processor" and then click "Apply";
5. Launch the game and enjoy!

In this case, try running the game with the graphical settings at a minimum.

I fixed it for now, I set the low detail mode to one player in the config window

Won't run on Core i7 w10, and Windows 7 compatability mode does not work either, but will run on VM W7. Runs on my cheap laptop downstairs witrh W10 and AMD A4 CPU but is choppy.

I have a Toshiba Satellite S55-B5258 with windows 10 and i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz. After reading all the blogs and advice, I tried all of it, and nothing worked. Then, I went to Toshiba driver support and installed the windows 7 x64 video driver instead of the windows 10 driver. I ignored all the warnings and installed anyway. It worked!!! Yeah!! This after all, and wiping my computer with reinstall of windows, sorry i did not discover this earlier. I cannot say if this will affect other games or programs, but I will keep the downgraded driver as long as it works.
On another note, the Integrated Intel HD 4600 graphics are excellent. I returned the Ryzen 3 laptop. that i bought to play this game, because the intel graphics are superior. I am reconsidering whether to buy a gaming laptop because the intel integrated HD are becoming so good. Game works flawlessly now with the downgraded Intel driver.
Also, the game works in my windows 7 virtual machine, but it's choppy.

Glad I could help, remember the driver is rolled back until next windows update. Then, it goes back to W10 driver, and you'll have to reload the w7 driver to play again.
