Super Cyborg
I can't get the cheat codes to work
Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I go to the title screen, and on my keyboard I hit the arrows for left left right right up up down up down and then the jump key (S) three times and there's no sound and when I try to start a new game anyway there's no extra lives. I also tried the weapon select while in the game with it paused, and nothing. I checked the controls in the game itself and I know I haven't changed them anyway, but they all say the same thing, hitting the arrow keys, I'm playing as player one. I can't think of anything else I could be getting wrong about this. Anyone heard anything about this?

I also tried this with the Steam controller (which is set up for keyboard) and got the same results.

I don't know about the weapon select, but I got the lives bonus When do you start entering in the code? I think I tried during the Artur Games splash screen and finished before the next screen animation finishes.
For the lives bonus I just try when the menu is up, so maybe I did take too long. I'll try it on the splash screen and see how that works.

I tried it during the splash screen and it still didn't work.

I've tried switching up as many things as I could, such as playing in full screen or windowed, restarting the game several times to try it in different places, putting in the codes as fast as possible, quintuple checking the codes every time. The main thing seems to be that no code works at all, including trying weapon select in the pause menu of a running game. If that doesn't work then there's something going on with how the code is trying to be put in.

I guess the next thing I'll try is rebinding the movement and jump keys to new bindings and using those instead and seeing what happens.

Okay I got it to work, and it wasn't any of the rebinding or anything like that.

There just seems to be a very specific rhythm to it. You can't miss a beat for even a quarter second, but you also can't do it too fast, so sometimes I was doing it too fast and it wouldn't work, and then sometimes I would do it normal but take just a tiny bit slower for one of the presses. It's like I have to do it bang bang bang bang bang for each individual button press, making sure each one is pressed with the right timing. You can't bang bang bang bangbangnbanb or bang bang bang
bang bang.

At least that's how it seemed to be for me, when I finally did get these codes working. I remember with the original Konami code, you couldn't do it too slowly maybe, but if you did it as fast as possible it would still work, way way back in the old days.

But now I have the extra lives and weapon select and I'm enjoying the game a lot!

Cool! It's definitely a ridiculously challenging game to attempt with the base count of lives. Glad you got the codes to work.
