Stretch Screen?
Just bought the game yesterday and simply like it a lot.

But any chance to stretch screen please? I just don't like black borders on the sides when I play games :D_Stop:

If you have Nvidia GPU, you can enter nvidia control panel > adjust desktop size and position > select full screen. Then select 4:3 aspect ratio resolution in the game

Yeah, the developer should have made the games backgrounds etc natively in 16:9 aspect ratio to begin with. Shovel Knight has shown us that you can still have retro games in widescreen

This is how original NES games looked like. Obviously, this was intentional by the developer to look exactly like an NES game down to the "256x224 stretched to 4:3" resolution, which is great and looks beautiful, especially on a CRT screen!

This was an artistic choice, not an accidental or ignorant one. It's not like it's a detriment to the gameplay anyway.

I think you may be the first person I've ever heard say they like playing in stretched mode. Just out of curiosity, when you watch a 4:3 movie, do you do the same?

Especially on movies. I can play 4:3 games if they have a nice border art to compensate it. However no exceptions with movies. 16:9 or stretched all the time, I'm very used to this and weird as it may sound to you I'm not the only one.

Right on. It doesn't bother you that peoples proportions are wrong? Do you just get used to seeing it that way?

Nope, besides most of the films/series I watch are on modern proportions so it's just a few old ones that I don't get on 16:9 like first Simpsons seasons f.e. but I don't care I'm really used to it. Not a big deal to me honestly. They all look normal to me, maybe a bit fatter, just a bit. Maybe this will give you a bit more of perspective

I never realized so many people prefered it this way! I particularly liked the SNES video that one dude linked. I'm the exact opposite. I'm the guy that uses Pixel Perfect mode, even if it shrinks my screen. Well, best of luck to you. Well, best of luck to you, and thank for the explanations! :-D

Seems the developer just released this on consoles this month and from what I'm seeing is it's been reformatted for 16x9 widescreen. I'm interested in getting this but wondering if the Steam version has been updated to support the widescreen display like the consoles. If not hopefully they plan an update 🤞

There's generally new graphics, new effects added. Most likely these ports were made by someone else

yeah, seems like it was maybe ported by drageusgames, which appears to be a polish developer

whoever did the switch port, they did a very good job!

Hi! The console version was developed with another engine (Unity). Original game resolution was 320x240 and console version has 384х216 pixels. Since the viewport of the game became wider than original some enemy locations were changed and additional graphics were added. Updating this version would require implementing to console version all of the Steam features including netplay mode. And that's a lot of work, which is not cost-effective.

Nowadays I changed my mind and prefer original resolutions. Would it be possible to add some borders? I still hate black borders and some art borders would fit so well.

I own the PC version and the switch version, but I still wish you would bring the console version to PC, it's a bit better :)

I am playing the switch version with an emulator on PC, I have to say it seems to run perfectly:
