Changes:
  • Mod has been optimized for better frame rates, especially in the late game.
  • All weapons have been reworked and all factions have been overhauled.
  • Hardcore game modes have been integrated with standard annihilation and victory point game modes.
  • New Infantry-Emphasis (IE) game modes have been added.
  • Income resource rates have been adjusted.
  • Limits for Main Battle Tanks have been increased.
  • Main Battle Tanks now have Active Protection Systems.
  • Artillery units are now more deadly.
  • AI has been improved and is more aggressive.
  • All abilities costs have been reworked.
  • Camouflage troops are now very effective.
  • Tanks are powerful but without infantry support they can be overwhelmed.
  • Chinese Special Forces missing animation issue has been fixed.
  • US Army M249 LMG missing animation has been fixed.
  • M106A2 Mortar Carrier weapon firing animation issue has been fixed.
  • Humvee Gunner missing animation has been fixed.
  • Trenches have been added to all factions.
  • Troops garrisoned in buildings and trenches only take damage from incendiary weapons, shotguns and grenades.
  • Certain Main Battle Tanks are now buildable from base buildings.
  • Campaign mission has been reworked and improved.
  • "Modern Combat Launcher.bat" has been added to launch the Mod from Desktop (EXE format only).

Feedback: the combat engineer upgrade icons (explosive,shotgun) are greyed out while the sniper icon is available. Not a big issue since the tool tip does show if you hover over the box.

Thanks for the feedback! You can fix it by doing the following steps:

> Uninstall the Modern Combat mod from Steam.

> Delete the “ModernCombat” folder inside Company of Heroes Relaunch directory.

> Reinstall the Modern Combat Mod either from Steam, or you can also download it from the link available on main post of this discussion.

> Download the latest custom patch, install it and overwrite the files when prompted.

Balancing/Bugs
- infantry in buildings (and trenches) getting ZERO damage from: RPG fire, Tank cannon fire, autocannon fire, assault rifles, and mortars (they only really die if the building collapses) (example: 1 Airborne squad with MAAWS held an entire Chinese attack force with armor and infantry)
- airborne rifle squad (the one that comes in blackhawks) reinforces too fast (example: I lost 1 man, the reinforcement paradrops in by the time the Chinese tank fires again, making them endlessly reinforce if manpower is available)
- You can't call in artillery at their base (idk if that was a balancing choice)
- Suppression is too instant, which doesn't allow tactical last second manuevering, but i think after being suppressed, the time the infantry gets unsuppressed is normal.
- AT4 range while being suppressed, AND even when pinned, is not decreased (whenever you are suppressed/pinned the AT4 shot is still the same range, although it should not be). Please check also for grenade range while suppressed/pinned
- AH-6 Support too cheap, recharges too quick, and you can call it in the Fog of War. Does not get shot down (I saw it get hit by the PLA AA vehicle).
- HMMWV vs ATV: (No armor upgrade) Humvee with CROWS .50 couldn't kill the PLA ATV close range and vice versa. The PLA ATV is did lose HP faster. Engagement took like 2-3 minutes with no clear winner (Both were around half health).
- M82 Barrett for Navy SEALs and Green Berets too stronk (they snipe really quick, and penetrate light armor really easily).
- PGZ95 has infrared missiles that acts like AT.
- Armored HQ Repair Engineer upgrade repairs too fast. In 3-4 seconds, it fully repaired an 1 HP Abrams.
- Bradley tanks 4 RPGs in the front.
- Bradley carrying capability is not consistent, Doctrine used: Close Area Battle.
- M1A2 TUSK and ZTZ99A1 should only be unit capped to 2 (since an Abrams/ZTZ96A can be built on the Armor building already)
- Shotguns can damage the ZBD-05
- LAV barely being penetrated by 30mm of ZBD-05 (it was from the rear too!)
- ZBD-05 should be able to carry infantry
- ZTZ99A1 outranges the TOW missile emplacement
- for some reason off-map (MLRS) artillery (Future is Now Doctrine) and MLRS doesn't work at some point in the very late game.
- I think the A-10 strafe should be 100 munitions only. Because, the Tomahawk missile which does more damage is 125 mun. only; and I witnessed the A-10 not being able to kill a ZBD-05 (only damage to 1/4 HP)

Notes/Suggestions:
- This is not an in-depth report, based on our gameplay only.
- to me the Humvee turret bug was fixed (gunner is visible)
- Infantry-only mode when? :lunar2020thinkingtiger::lunar2020thinkingtiger:
- I believe the Stryker MGS needs more AT power or HE as an infantry-support gun (because it lacks in either aspect).
- There should be a medevac and or repair upgrade for the Stryker IFV

Very cool mod. Are you going to add, like you mentioned before, some of the assets the mod file has but not in the unit building roster into the game? I think that will make the game more interesting if that is not violating copy right. I had the opportunity to play another Modern Combat mod fan edit patch before, and the creator said there is a AT missile vehicle fully functional in the mod, but was never included in the unit building roster by the original developer. If that is true, will you consider adding the unused units in?

Thank you for this Patch. Works Great :) Please make it official for easier access. Also it would be great to add the F-22 Bombing run from the Campaign to the skirmish mode. Also adding other factions and middle eastern maps.

Just a minor suggestions but are there ways to make the called-in mbts like 99, 96 and abrams larger in their appearances? especially the 99 and 96, which overall size seems unbelievably tiny comparing with 59. even infantry standing up straight seems to be reaching the top of the mbts
If possible can you fix the Far East mod for COH. That mod does not allow you to save the skirmish game nor load a saved game. It would be great if you can create a patch for that mod as well. Thanks for your patch.
Can the mod work on Tales of Valor? Or do I need to download the OG Company of Heroes?
The skins for the marine corps are messed up. Navy seals, marsoc, and engineers spawn with us army skins. You can check the campaign mission to confirm.
When extracting the files, I don't get the prompt to replace the existing files. What am i doing wrong? please help.

First, I appreciate your modification of this mode. This is wonderful.
Many M1 Abrams are very powerful!
This mode also has a good balance. I appreciate your efforts to make this enjoyable.
than can you add new factions, Britain and russia?
I want to see challenger 2 and T-80U
Of course I know it's going to be hard. It is not easy.
This is simply my wish.

to play this mod you need COH opposing fronts or tales of valor installed... this mod will be installed on COH root
