Don't forget to check our website for various games, some of them are not (yet) available on Steam.
However, it has been months since Nordwind 1945 and Coral Sea 1942 got released, and I actually went ahead and bought Nordwind on WAW store and installed it on Steam. Although I still like the convenience of having everything put together under Steam better.
Burma 1942 sounds awesome as well, can't wait. Thanks for the efforts.
Interesting subject indeed...could be done I believe without major issues, we would just need a "story" (i.e. a scenario)
I am working on this one, by why 1972? Don't you want it to start with the 1965 involvement?
-Soviet invasion of Afghanistan
-2003 invasion of Iraq (goal would be to occupy iraq and remove saddam without triggering insurgency)
-Peninsula campaign (Napoleonic)
-Peninsula campaign (Civil War)
-English Civil War
-Marne 1914
-Marne 1918
-France 1940
-Operation Peace for Galilee 1982
-Yom Kippur War 1973
-Barbarossa 1941
-Stalingrad (an almost strictly urban combat game that would be interesting to see how the rule system works for the street fighting)
-French and Indian War
-Napoleon's invasion of Russia
-Dien Bien Phu and/or First Indochina War
-Iran-Iraq War
-Chaco War
-Indo-Pakistani War 1965
-Vercors 1944
-Tsushima
-Russo-Japanese War
-Imphal and Kohima
-Yorktown
I do apologize for the spam. These are the battles/wars that immediately come to mind as being naturally able to work with the system based on what's already been tried. Some such as the Yom Kippur War and Napoleon's Peninsular campaign can even use existing maps. I also know a lot about these already and would love to help on the historical side of things if any are chosen, or can develop a rough draft/pitch.
The US involvement in Vietnam overshadows that of the ARVN. A 1972-1975 game would shed light on the struggle of the Republic of Vietnam after the US withdrew, as well as provide the player with the possibility of changing history. Also consists of more open warfare when the south is outright invaded.
This is probably what he is trying to get at.
We are working also on some engine improvements that would be needed to render better some of those conflicts.... stay tuned.
Hello,
Very good list. I have also some ideas, with campaigns or battles that would be coherent with WaW system.
- Tet offensive (on the whole South Vietnam theater)
- Battle for Hue (to my point of view, the WaW system is very good for simulating urban warfare)
- First Chechen war and/or battle for Grozny
- War in the desert 1940-1942
- Tunisia campaign 1943
- Italian campaign 1943-1945 and/or Cassino
- Israel 1948
- Ogaden War
- Cuban Revolution
- War between Georgia and Russia in 2008
- South African Border War (South Africa, Angola, UNITA, Cuba, SWAPO, etc.)
- First and/or Second Congo wars
- Wars in Chad/Libya in Chad
- War in Cambodia and/or in Laos during the 1960s and 1970s (if not in the scenario about Vietnam currently in development)
- Chinese invasion of North Vietnam (1979)
- Hypothetical war in Europe between NATO and Warsaw Pact (could be in the 1970s or 1980s, so, two different scenarios ? A huge scenario including Northern, Central and Southern Europe would be amazing)
- Syrian Civil War (uneasy as such a scenario can spark controversy)
- War of 1870
- Chinese Civil War (rather a big scenario ?)
- World War One in Africa
- Mexican Revolution (1910-1920)
- German conquest of Yougoslavia and Greece (1941)
- Easter offensive in South Vietnam (1972)
- Somali Civil War 2009-2012 (until the capture of Kismayo)
- Italian conquest of Ethiopia
- Campaign for Ethiopia 1940-1941
- Syria campaign (1941)
- Lawrence of Arabia's war
- 2011 Libyan Civil War
Best regards.
