Game creation slider "hints" too vague!!!
So i am a new player. I do not have the benefit of past knowledge of the old slider system to have the slightest hint of what the "perfect" settings are.

I can tell you that this is my only major gripe with this game and being a new player it might be worth atleast considering what i am saying.

There is a guide in the community hub that obviously has all the old "perfect" settings and if they have not changed then i do not understand why your previous system was removed? Basically the only solid feedback is to check a guide made by someone when the previous system was active but this is really frustrating because i don't want ALL the answers and that is excatly what is provided there.

It could easily have been sanctioned perhaps you have to get 3stars for each rating (genre, topic, platform etc.) before it kicks in???

Anyways simply offering grey arrows is far too vague and given that you just increased the difficulty of creating high rated games which i am GLAD to see you have to atleast compliment this change with more feedback to the player that invests and dedicates themselves to specific game combinations.

I don't know if the previous system was removed because it was similar to Game Dev Tycoon BUT there is absolutely nothing wrong with borrowing ideas or creating similar variants from other titles when they made complete sense :)

Please reconsider putting the old system back in but perhaps tightening up the criteria required before it "activates".

Other than this complaint. Your game is superb and it is nice to see people wishing to rekindle the tycoon fire :)

OK since this has had no replies can anyone honestly say they do NOT use the wiki or guides as references when getting the perfect mix of elements???

And if you do not ... did you play the game when the "dots" were implemented?

I honestly used the wiki when I first started, as well as the red dots, but I've noticed that you can leave them at 25/25/25/25, until your fans ask for better "elements", then you can raise and lower the slides accordingly. I hope that helps.

I don't find them to be too vague. It really depends on the team you've, and the output they do.
If you've a team with balanced stats, leaving them at 25/25/25/25 is fine, as you'll have no problem reaching the expected outcome, and even get good reviews on each topic. If, however, you do see one of the topics being a lot lower than the others, then on your next game you should try to even them out accordingly, or just train your staff.

Guys it appears to me you are talking about Graphics, Sound, Tech and Gameplay.

I am talking about the parts before that where you have to decide between Atmosphere and Features for example. All you get is a grey arrow that kinda shows what way to nudge the slider which is extremely vague as there are several settings for each slider.

This is what i am talking about.

Those you "unlock" as you develop more games of the genre. You'll never get the "perfect" setting, as that's something you'll have to figure out on your own. The first game (first star) of the genre will give you the first 2 settings, the following star will give you two more settings, whereas the remaining star will give you the remaining setting. That way you'll know which side suits the genre best, and then it's just a matter of trying until you hit the jackpot.

You weren't expecting everything just handed to you, were you? Where's the fun in that?

No i read about the dots and had thought it was talkin about that ... no i don't want everything handed to me it was really trying to get my head around the mechanics involved.

Thank you for all your insight Mr Meckus i can now apply all this knowledge and enjoy the game.
