Furniture and scaling: How do YOU do it?
Greetings everyone,

I've recently introduced my girlfriend to MGT, and while showing her the what's-what, I noticed that I would steer her into purchasing the best available furniture, right off the bat. Thinking on it, I realized that I do that with every new game I make, spending for the Valt desks right away, then the Modern Graphics/Sound/MoCap booths, etc..., which ends up making all previous, lower-quality items irrelevant.

I'm curious as to whether other players also make a beeline for the best furniture as soon as possible, or if you manage to resist the urge and pace yourselves with slowly increasing the quality of equipment over time?

Does anyone else construe this as a pacing issue in the game? Should better pieces of furniture be unlocked over time (based on current year, cash benchmarks, etc...), rather than be gated solely by their initial cost?

What are your thoughts on the matter?

I never buy the other desks and stuff too.

I buy level 1 desks in the garage on legendary, but after that I can pretty much afford the highest quality stuff.

This is a question that is already old, on the begining off MGT we take some time to buy the good stuff and asked for new stuff to the devs, now I can buy the 3 stars desks every game i start i think you are right, at the moment this also should get fixed, cost more money or only appears after you have money, or develop a good game, in summary it should have classes as you go on the game.

maybe something like roomupgrades could help. So that you need to Update your room so you can place better equipment in it

That could be a good idea, and considering that the [Misc] section contains items of * and ** values, having a room tier could affect those items as well.

The difficulty I see, however, would be that the game would have to treat each room as a separate instance to keep track of the level of each room. I'm not a Dev, so I couldn't say whether it'd be possible or practical to implement.

What I could see happening, however, is to limit acquisition through cash on-hand, current year or, as Firewiz said, based on the success of a game produced, as all of those methods are already used by the game to reward the player in various ways.

yea I would say based on the success or quality of a game produced. 1 star and no star items should be always unlocked (or at least some 1 star items moved to no star and have an appropriate 1 star unlock as well). Then 2 star items could unlock if you make a game rated 60% or make 500,000 profit or something like that. Then 3 star for a 80% rating or something like that would sound good to me.

I haven't got far enough to see if 4 or 5 star items even exist, but if not, that would be cool to add those in as well for higher end rewards.

If you see the manager office the desks are blocked, so i think the devs could do the same on the other stuff zero, 1, 2 and 3 stars, also the prodution room should have stars
