Part of the turn off in this game for me is the lack of relevance with genre/topic and also no noticable differences for genre's between different platforms (like simulation, strategy should sell well on PC, mac etc). I always find it really odd when there is some crazy combination of genre/topic trending, like military sports game or something like that.
I actually think there might be too many topics already, some of them are pretty odd choices and even redundant, could cut some out easily. Basically I would prefer a choice (in game options before you start), between everything being random or everything having some historical basis. Genre/topic priority settings, trends, platform relevance, all of it. That would be my dream game development game.
