As someone who has and played both games, I prefer this game over Game Dev Tycoon. Now don't get me wrong I really enjoyed Game Dev Tycoon (most of my time in that game is from the DRM-Free version), but I think this game has deeper/complex elements (for either better or worse depending on how much you like the management system) than compared to Game Dev Tycoon.

Many of the mechanics of Game Dev Tycoon are found in this game, but more expanded. If you really enjoy the micro-management in these types of Simulation games and enjoyed GDT then I would highly recommend Mad Games Tycoon!

Game dev tycoon has a more casual feel to it. Mad games tycoon leans more towards simulation (although certain elements of MGT do give a mobile game vibe). I would say if you like more complexity, MGT is a better fit.

I really enjoyed Game Dev Tycoon, and I'm glad that I played it before I played Mad Games Tycoon. The problem with Game Dev Tycoon is that the game only goes so far, and afterwards you're left wanting more. Mad Games Tycoon lacks a lot of the polish and simplicity, but provides significantly more content. I like both games, and I am glad that I played them in the order I did.
Game Dev Tycoon also has the worst review score system ever, robbing you of getting good review scores for your game.

Game Dev tycoon is pretty cool too, but simpler. Also their rating system is somewhat annoying. When you have finished playing this game, check out Software inc

MGT is definately more indepth then Game Dev Tycoon. Also a lot more replayability imo.

Just wish MGT dev continued on MGT, because UI is kind of bad and some things don't make sense. Also it could be expanded in a lot of ways. Imo a diamond in the rough.

I also look forward to Software Inc. That seems to be shaping up nicely too.

a baby game between GDT and MGT would be near perfect.
I feel MGT has the upper hand but it could do so much more in terms of design and adding features

Mad Games Tycoon is far more interesting than Game Dev Tycoon, period.
On the other hand, the building part, economic simulation and "project" processes are better in Software Inc.. And this one is still in development and keeps getting better.

I haven't played it yet, so I can't say much about that one.
