But I mean, they are missing a lot of things really- I mean, I could make a sizeable list I am sure... lets try!~
8K, Procedual Generation, Asycronous Compute, Uncompressed Sound, Orchestral Soundtrack (This one happened in 1998 with Total Annihilation), Stream Intergration (twitch integration is becoming more and more common, and is becoming a sales point of games),
I mean, it is missing whole concepts- expansion packs, dlc, Idle Games (free games that must be updated to earn money through ads and donations), Party/Stream Games, Visual Novel, Roguelight/Like, Early Access games, crowdfunding (more useful if you don't decide to start in 1980, but would still be cool)
digital distrobution
I should be able to make my OWN digital platform like I would a console- requiring server rooms like an MMO and developers giving me a flat percentage of what they sell. In this, I could give away free games to convince people to download my platform, organise sales to raise more cash, make a (tiny) trickle of money from ALL games on the platform (instead of just new ones that are actively on sale)
Oh, and the idea of making a "collectors edition"- a version of the game that sells based on your number of fans, contains more expensive unique items and can be sold for double the price.
You could get a publisher to make one with a checkbox, or dedicate a second production line to one.
Point is, there is a lot still missing- wish it had it :P
Missing are also widescreens, different historical videocards and accessories that we have today.
