Is that meant to be survivable? And how. Only had 24 Destroyers. It feels like a trap option. Is there some sorta boon from surviving it?

So I am at the third alien attack. The enemy sends six light cruisers. My defense base can kill two on the first turn, then the remainder focus fire on the station, ignoring all my other ships, and destroy it in a single turn. My remaining ships can only tickle the light cruisers because, while I have much better weapons, they don't actually fit on Destroyer hulls, it seems. I know the defense bases get the best weapons you've researched, but what about defense? How do I let it survive more than a single ...

Hi, Is the developer considering adding some sounds? Even very basics, like 20 free of rights combat sounds would greatly enhance the atmosphere. I see he is using SDL, so there is probably a simple sound library available anyway.
