Derek Paxton AkA Kael, legendary Civ4 modder, is working on EL2.

For those not aware, Mr. Paxton is the author of the original Fall From Heaven mod for Civilization 4, by far the best mod for that game with the best asymmetric factions in any 4X I've ever seen.

It's now confirmed by Kael himself that he's working on EL2. This improves the chances of this game being absolutely baller by approximately 350%.

It also means crucial bugs will never get fixed, like in Fallen Enchantress.

Not sure you can blame Paxton for that. AFAIR, he was brought in to salvage the garbage pile that was FE and did a good job at it. Perhaps it will be better with more of a team behind him?

Very kind of you to say. It's an honor to work with the folks at Amplitude. Both Fall from Heaven and Endless Legend drew inspiration from Master of Magic and Alpha Centauri, which set the standard for massive faction differentiation. And it so much fun to continue to do that on Endless Legend 2.

Over the years I rarely play vanilla Civ 4 anymore (even though it's an excellent game). Instead, if I'm going to play Civ 4, I'm playing the Fall From Heaven mod. Honestly one of my favorite games/mods of all time, and I've played a lot of 4x games (fantasy, sci-fi, historical). That mod was just something really special. Thank you so much for that creation, Kael, and good luck with this new project. I don't know what all your role is in this, but with you involved, the game is an instant Wishlist addition from me.
