The lvl 2 research software

Can somebody help me out? I found al the other lvl 2 sofware allready. The log hints to viking square, where it's supposed to be on some cat(?). But I've cleared the whole place twice now without results. Anybody got a hint?

It is in the vent system on 3rd or 4th floor of the Viking Square. (can't remember the exact floor off my head..) The enterance to the vent system is in the large square park like room, where each corner has the vent enterance.

If people are finding too difficult to find it, I will make West speak something about the vent when he gets near there.

Okay so ive been back to viking square, and found one of the park like squares on section 4, section 3 didnt have one. I did a full scan on the place and couldn't find any entrances to the crawl space. Either i'm blind or it's a bug. I've sent a debug report.

humm. please send me the save file if you can.. this kind of issue can only be looked at using problomatic save file. the save file is under appdata folder in your user folder. let me know if you cant find it.

That is correct

And if my understanding of Penthouse is current, it should be on the bottom most floor, since the buildings go underground instead of up right?

It's typically on the 4th floor.

Ah thanks, seems to me thats the case with all of them. Do we need datachips for lvl's 3 & 4 software? Haven't found any clues to tell me otherwise.

Usually , (but not always) there is clue to the next chip in the location you found the previous level chip. And yes you need the chip to get the next level software. However, it does not matter in which order you find them , because in order to actually research the chip and make them you would need the right level research and 3dprinter anyway

I'm afraid I'm also unable to find the level 2 software chip, despite having resorted to video walkthroughs and then starting a new game just in case my first was glitched somehow. The only "park" style area I can find in Viking Square is on level 5, and as far as I can tell (I've scanned every inch of it) there are no vents anywhere within it. I've also scanned levels 3 and 4 as thoroughly as I can, to no avail. Any suggestions? :)

There are 4 vent entrances there, each one in every corner of that area. They are only in the corners. If there are no vents, then you've found a different park area, which is smaller and simply decorative.

Thanks for your help! It turned out that the vents were on level 1 for me. I don't know about previous versions of the game, but in the current version the vents show up on the local map (if you press 'm'). Hope this helps anyone else who might be lost.

The park for me was on floor 2. And yes the vents show up on the map. Thanks for the help too!
