I completely understand that these three materials are easiest found by recycling trash found in containers, however from my perspective I find this to be immersion breaking. I don't understand how (during times when there was no infection) the colony produced these three materials considering they all require more of the other than is produced in a decaying circle.

Is it possible to have these resources have a positive feedback when you have the higher level Ore/tech chips? I'd like to have that ability come endgame type scenario.

The production facilties were sabotaged, but that wasn't the case before. There is a log about this, which is an attempt to explain why the facilities have no blueprints for any items despite being the main production facility for Mars.

I think the composite metal needs a tweak, ideally both to lower costs across the most expensive items and improve the cost of producing it. I've exhausted the two main storage areas of nelson engineering and I still need thousands more. Not sure where i'll get it since I can't keep emptying out levels (did that too much in the beginning and now I'm only starting to hit level 3 chips on day 22 or so).

The circular costs of producing these resources if rather annoying as well.

You don't have to craft everything you can and research and keep up to date all kinds of weapons and their upgrades. This takes too much resources. Instead, skip to weapons and upgrades to the top of each tier, and you don't need all kinds of weapons. There is quite enough metals in other districts, look in trash bins for cans, those make quite a lot. Also kitchens for kitchen stuff, chests in power and staircase rooms for heavy metallic items, whch can give up to 100 metal.
