Is There a Difference Between This and Empire: Total War?
I already own Empire: Total War on a different platform (got it from the itunes store before I started using steam), and I was wondering what differences there are between this game, and Empire. I don't want to end up wasting money on a game that's identical, so I was wondering if it's worth it or not to buy this game.

Yes! It is worth it to buy this game. Almost everything about Napoelon is better than Empire. The graphics are huge improvement from Empire. They are just better, everything looks more realistic and polished. The uniforms on the soldiers looks WAY better. The battles are much better too. Your troops fire at will, instead of line by line. The units are also an improvment from Empire. You don't have pikemen, but eh who cares. Escpecially with larger nations, you have such a variety of line infantry, calvary, and atrillery to choose from. The campaign is also much nicer in my opinion. The only problem with the campaign with Napoleon, is that it is not a world map like Empire, but you have to stay true to history and realize that Napoelon was focused on Europe, (except for Egypt). The other problem is that you don't get as many diffrent factions to choose from for your campaign, but the mod Napoleon Total Factions can fix that. You also get the oppurtunity to play all of Napoleon's campaigns and famous historic battles, which are all very fun and interesting. Besides that, Empire and Napoleon are fairly similar interface wise. You have the same familiar controls and during the campiagn everything is set up almost identical. Also, online battles are also more active with Napoleon then Empire, if that is something that intrests you. You should defintely buy it! It's a very intruiging and interesting game. Even if you are slightly interesting in the time of Napoleon, you should get it. I've certainly put my 400+ hours in.

Recently got it in the sale and Toast is right, after having previously played Empire I can confirm it's just a step up from that on most levels. Recommended buy.
i play since some years only tw games and i have em all ( 9 stars in etw and in ntw ) all games are really cool my favourites are etw and ntw but actually i prefer ntw after 4000 hours etw . there is a big different between this games when u play it proffessional ( i am no pro but i think i am good XD ) in etw is the cavalerie the biggest prob cause they are not very usefull besides light dragoons and a bit heavy cav support - in ntw is the cav awesome and every fractions has other specialitys ( sorry for my bad english )
ntw is more realistic

Not really. In NTW, muskets behave like sharpshooting rifles. In reality, a musket salvo at maximum range (150m) didn't cause much casualties due to the weapon's lack of accuracy.
Muskets sacrificed accuracy in order to gain faster reloading speed.
There are several mods which fix this issue and ensure that all units can fulfill their role on the battlefield.
