This did not solve the issue
Yeah, that was the first thing I tried. I removed all the preference script and uninstalled the game. Then did a fresh reinstall and verified the files. The cannons still do not make a sound and neither do German Jaegers. I'm pretty sure when they merged the files something was broken.
I suppose we'll all just have to hope someone at CA notices this, lest we get stuck with silent cannons for the rest of this game's lifespan.
try this if you have any issues after the update
Please open a ticket to Sega Support, the more tickets the better response we could get, at least to give a try...
I see this will be the only solution to me. I have Intel 10th gen CPU and for me I was ok with the previous NTW version, this one is a big disappointment.
I dont play mods at the moment, I played before, but I can imagine if they removed the patch files and removed an essential part of the code linked to that sounds no mod will fix it so I would expect the same behaviour than vanilla with any mod. The other option is that the code they applied to make this game compatible with Intel 12th gen messed up random sounds.
In my opinion they did not test the game enough before releasing this update.
Yes, I will do so. It will be absolutely unforgivable to leave this game without such import bits of audio. Who wants to play a black powder strategy game when they can't hear cannons or bits of musket fire?
So all we can do now is hope the one person that delivered this update at Creative Assembly notices the myriad of bugs that they accidentally caused and decide to fix it. Either that, or this game will stay like this forever.
