Killing Napoleon

I mean, how difficult is it? I have just showered him with grapeshot and set three units of light dragoons and a unit of heavy dragoons on him and it was absolute carnage but apparently he was only wounded and is now "convalescing" somewhere. Any tips? Or does he just keep coming back, Terminator style?

Isn't there a setting somewhere in the game where Important Generals (such as Napolean and The Duke of Wellington) and admirals (Nelson) are immune to death? Like they'll just get wounded instead of dying outright, I'm not too sure but I think it's something like that, you may want to check or ask someone who isn't a noob like I am :D

Neither Napoleon,Wellington or any other great general dies, they only get wounded and unstead they just "convalesce" at their capital. The only way to effectivelly killing them is to eradicate their nation

If you got an agent/assassin (a really good one at that) in Paris or whatever you could assassinate him every time he came back he would effectivly be dead mabye you could do that?

if you take out a nation such as the UK and they win the uprising. Wellington will be dead but with france if u take them out and they win the uprising Napoleon will still be alive and will rule france once more.

i did that 6 times until my spy/assassin was killed, but it helped

Of course, even though the main military personalities cannot be permanently killed during the game, their absence for a few turns ensures that the armies and navies that they are attached to do not receive special benefits and bonuses during battle, so it is always worthwhile attacking leader units during battle.

Plus, destroying leader units will also lower the morale of the enemy army if successful so the victory can be more easily achieved.
