What do you guys think is the best mods for this game?

NTW3 is proclaimed as the best, but you might run into issues with it, I have. My mainstay mod is LME4 and if you search deep enough you'll find some nice submods for it.

Thanks for that. I keep hearing masters of europe is good for custom battles would you agree?. I shall try all the mods you mentioned thank you.

I haven't tried Masters of Europe my friend, I think I saw or read it had some issues. I did see it on the TWC site the other day, so maybe I'll give it a look someday soon. NTW3 with the Napoleons Eagles mod by Desaix has to be the most comprehensive Historical Battles representation out there. Have fun trying them out, they all improve the base game considerably so whichever you choose it will be a plus.

I think you could try The Great War mod... its an overhaul that recreates the first world war on the Napoleon map. It has tanks, and a very different balancing around like artillery and more. Its a very well made mod that not just focuses on skirmish and mp its recreates a big campaign with events and various factions and more. You also have Darth Mod thats good I dont know if it works today or so but I still recommend the first one I mentioned.

yeah, Great War mod is neat and all, but the AI still uses 19th century tactics. Stops being fun if the enemy always charge into machine gun nests. It's like playing chess with a pidgeon but before it can move you shoot a cannonball at it

not a fan of ntw 3 because of the accuracy nerf (which i know is realistic but i prefer not to kill 4 people from a 50 man volley). my favorite mod is darthmod because of the fire by rank feature, more units and more men per unit allowing 10000 men at most on the standard 20 units. theres a 40 unit save allowing 20000 men too. i dont like the morale system since units can route after a few men are killed.

Is it just the darthmod that has fire by rank mode? I have been looking for something that gives you the customization that cossacks 2 gave after forming a group.

Fire by rank is in the vanilla game. Even was in Empire.

Thanks kindly guys. I am not a huge fan of the MP was looking mostly for single player campaign. I checked out the great war mod and so far it has been amazing but my only concern is the tanks and some heavy machine guns who are pretty much for the tanks a box model and a cannon crew stuck inside and for the heavy machine guns a puckle gun. The infantry is amazing however and more so the cannons. I wonder if they plan to update the mod though it seems to be not updated for years.

THe best mods are 1. Darthmod 2. LME 3. NTW3 4. Masters of Europe 5. Napoleon Empire Realism. And any Bran sub mods with all the above.
