Getting an army onto the sea

Hi,

Ive been trying to get my army onto the sea from a commercial port in Italy to invade Corsica but i cannot manage to do so. I have tried building a large navy of sloops and merchant vessels and merging the army with them at the port but it doesnt seem to work.

Click on the Army then right-click on the ship. This should tell them to board the ship. If you simply click both and click the port the army will just garrison the port. If the ship is not at the port (or the army isn't either) then they will move together at the nearest port and the army will automatically board the craft.

You'll know if the army is on board the ship by looking at the ship and seeing the Army tab.

To disembark it is the reverse. Click on the ship, then click on the Army tab, click on the Army then click the port you want to disembark them on and the game will take the ship and the army to that port and disembark.

Edit: I believe you need to right-click to make this all work properly.

Edit2: When dealing with armys and ships, always click the army and tell them what to do. Once you've clicked on the army then right-clicking on the ship or on the place where you want them to disembark will make the ships move to accomplish the task.
