How does one start a revolution you know that revolution where you decide to side with the rebels or the government I saw someone do that but didn't quite get how he did it and what does it grant you

all you need is some form of clamour or unrest with one of the classes in your nation's capital. Whether that is upper or lower classes. It should take 2 turns, both of those turns need to be in unrest and then you should be able to choose whether to side with rebels or not.
It is a massive set back, and you might have to exempt most of your lands and up the tax system if you want to get it over with fairly early on.
Hope this helps. :)
I heard it also changes your nation to a different nation or??

Oh if you want to instigate a particular governmental change, tick off the right people.

Lower classes for republic, upper classes for constitutional monarchy. Most nations start out as absolute monarchies. A republic more or less dispenses with clamour for reform but it's also a sizeable diplomatic hit with most nations.
