Logitech Gamepad Button Mapping
I'm having issues with the button mapping for my wireless Logitech Rumblepad 2. Basically nothing is where it should be, and options such as accept or cancel keep flashing in the menu sceens.

I've had this issue with other games on Steam before, but using x360ce always fixed them, but it just isn't helping here.

Any ideas?

X360ce has gone through many drastic changes, in the past I've encountered games that won't work with one version but do with another(I've had the best luck with older versions where you edit the ini directly). Usually I've had it work if the preview thing works but a couple times I had to change a setting related to hiding the dll or something, turn the tone indicator on to see if the game is actually loading it.

You could also get a 360 compatible controller since that's what everything is designed for these days. I got a logitech F710 to replace my wireless rumblepad and it's nice because you get all of the benefits of the 360 pad(xinput, same layout that games are designed for, and analog triggers) but you can flip a switch and use it in directinput mode for older games. Then again I believe the xbone controller is slightly different so that might become the new standard soon. *shrug*

I tried it with and without x360ce and had the same issue both times. It's playable, but the layout I am getting feels so unnatural, and editing the .ini doesn't seem to affect it. It seems the games ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gamepad detection is over-riding x360ce, which is the main issue, I think.

Yeah, I'm using an older version of x360ce since I've had problems getting the newer ones to work with some games, and this has been the one game that has stumped me enough to post about. Wel that, and Google wasn't much help either. Preview thing works fine, and the .ini file shows the corect inputs as well, so I dunno.

Do you get the tone at the load screen with it activated(UseInitBeep=1)?

I took a quick look and it looks like I used the vibmod 3.1.4.1 version with the "FakeAPI" option when I had this issue(working in preview but not in game), check the readme to figure out this option because you'll have to set up the VID and PID manually in the ini.

Yep, when I run the test I hear the tone and the commands I input are accurate. I tried the FakeAPI option (actually remembered having to do that for a different game once I started doing it), but still getting the same result. For some reason the game just overrides everything x360ce is doing.

/facepalm

Seems Logitech Game Profiler was the one blocking x360ce. I forgot I had set it up for Boarderlands a little while back and it just loads on startup. Gamepad works fine now. Thanks for all the help fellas.

Haha, don't you hate it when something like that happens. Glad you got it working.

So yeah, I realise I'm necro-ing this thread, but I'm also having issues with a Logitech gamepad and Alpha Protocol. I've tried all the different dll's and hook modes, but I'm not having any luck. The init beep doesn't even play when I run the game. Dll's are in 'Alpha Protocol\Binaries'.

Anyone know how to get this to work?
