Lol, indeed. The thing is, I haven't had much trouble with any of the other control/minigames beside this hacking one. I've even tried adjusting the sensitivity of my mouse so that it would take less movement to "move" the mouse, but the game refuses to register it.
Combat is pretty bland as well. Story so far seems good, not a fan of how dialogue plays out but maybe I'll warm up to it.
Guess I'm gonna have to get my controller hooked up for this one.
I'm confused by all these people having mouse problems with this game. I've never had any problems (Well, outside the sniping anyway). Do you guys not have a gaming mouse? I tried using a non-gaming wireless mouse with mass effect for, like, 10 minutes before going back to my old wired deathadder. Too heavy, seemed less accurate. Just used the software included to adjust my mouse sensitivity in general and never had a problem.
The mouse issues were minor for me (using a fairly new gaming mouse). I had the same issues when hacking, but more annoying were the random spikes of extremely high sensitivity (as in I'd be running around and move my mouse a hair, get spun around 9000 times, and return to normal sensitivity immediately after). The mouse control probably would have been slightly gamebreaking if I had actually used guns with any regularity, but I pretty much only used my fists, skills and gadgets. If I had to guess, maybe the problem is caused by low or unstable framerate, but that doesn't explain the hacking mouse problem. I would imagine there are topics on these faults of the game already, but since they didn't bother me too much I didn't try to find a solution.
Yea, I hooked up my Dualshock 3 with MotionJoy, and it is working like a charm. Playing with the controller is like a whole different game, really. The combat doesn't seem as bland as it did, control over camera and movement is much better, the dialogue isn't such a pain, and all of the mini-games are easier (except lockpicking, in my opinion that one was easier with mouse and keyboard).
Would reccomend you play with a controller, personally.
If you play nonlethal and/or stealth, controller is definitely the way to go. The game was designed for a controller, so you could make an argument for using one no matter how much your playstyle benefits from precision aiming.
