Alpha Protocol Retail key/activation

Hiho everybody,
I have a boxed version of Alpha Protocol and before I give it away I would like to ask if anybody knows whether the key of the boxed version is redeemable here on steam or not.
It is, of course, a Games for Windows LIVE key (as far as I know) but there were also gfwl games out there which you could redeem anyway on steam later on (like Bioshock afaik).
I know the easiest way to test it would be typing in the key, but it's still sealed and I don't want to open it...

It is better you redeem it as soon as possible. I had bought a combo pack for splinter cell series from 1st to Conviction long back. And only added few of them to the account at that time. And now when I wanted to add the remaining after who knows how many years, it says that the key has been used already in Uplay already :'(

I bought a brand new copy of the game. You have to enter the serial code in the game launcher, too bad it gives a connection error when you enter it. Obviously the support sites for the game no longer exist.

With little hope, I sent a support request to SEGA's official site....

Well, there goes my 15€.

PS: there is nothing about GFWL after installation.

Yeah they told me what to do, they gave me a link to update the game to version 1.1 to bypass the activation. (now I don't even need the disc to launch the game).

Now I'm struggling with the known startup problems and various crashes, in the end I'm glad I didn't waste my money.
