Now, to get him to fight you to the death in Rome, you have to make him hate you and you have to go to save Madison. Because, yet again, this is the unprofessional option. There will be a point where Marburg will attempt to leave. Continue to snark and remind him that you just killed a bunch of his men. He should stick around.

He can also be fought at the end of the game. But that's a labyrinth of choices that comes down to minor details I'm not completely familiar with. Pretty sure he has to hate you, at least. Can't align with Leland. Can't be planning to reveal Alpha Protocol, pretty sure that means you're getting Westridge at the end.

Trying to force the ending to happen how you want it to is a huge headache. I recommend the Rome option.

Forcing Alpha Protocol into the light gets you Westridge, not exposing it gives you Leland to fight instead.
So good to know, just PISS HIM THE ♥♥♥♥ OFF and just be shooty McKillsatonne *Though I will STILL spare security guards and non combatants because I'm NOT an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥* And yeah, killing his MEN will certainly piss him the ♥♥♥♥ off too. I know with the second method that you need to either reveal that Parker was the one who left him to the wolves, or tell Parker that Marburg killed/almost killed his daughter. Which will then cause Parker's death either way AND Marburg to stay and fight to the death.

And you have to save Madison over stopping the bombs in Rome. And it's not necessarily the killing, but setting off a lot of alarms will do it. Shooting the guy in the Gelato shop will be a negative. Being in positive rep with SIE, so head to Russia before getting halfway through Rome.

As for the endgame, if you have a positive reputation with Marburg he can be suspiciously absent from the final level. I often did, since I always played a heavy stealth build.

Which reminds me, it's not so much the killing as setting off the alarms a lot. Shooting the gelato guy. Going loud when raiding the listening post. Being more Rambo than James Bond. It's really not that hard to get negative with him if you're trying, and it doesn't take a massively bad reputation to push him over the edge.

You don’t have to save Madison to Kill Marburg in the museum. I’ve killed him several times after disarming the bombs.

Far as I can tell: you just need a really negative reputation (like -5, at least) and use the “suave” lines during the gunfight.

You can get Marburg to fight you to death in Rome?!

Alpha Protocol never ceases to surprise me. There is always something new to discover in this game.

Yeah, in fact he drops a pretty decent pistol *Massive Ammo Count per clip, Excellent accuracy *no need to take time with shot line up* and stable as a board on a flat plain, just weaker than the UC series pistols.* You just need to piss him off *Be unprofessional as often as possible, a TONNE of alerts included, Suave is a MUST *Be snarky to this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and he will, in turn, hate your guts* and when you fight him at Rome, I dunno if it truly helps but I THINK it does, shoot his men dead when they pop up, it'll piss off Marburg as well.*

You need to have the suave perk (you can get it at the very beginning of the game) and taunt him hard by always going suave with him and befriending SIE before meeting with him. Killing the guy in the villa during the sniper rifle quest helps, too. And also choosing the girl over the bombs. You need to get rep with him to -7 or -9 if i remember correctly.

And last but not least, you need his doessier to be almost complete in order to taunt him into fight instead of fleeing (i think, at the very least, you need the part of his dossier that you get by talking to madison)
