The path is not a legal form (Saving/Loading/Settings)
Getting this error pop up whenever I try to save, load or save settings. It started after changing the Fast Forward control (keep hitting it by mistake on the default key).

Didn't see anything about it in the Indie (Surv game) forums...

Save game error says:
Could not enumerate saved games.

Sorry to hear that. I've never seen this before either. It sounds like maybe there's a file with a dodgy name in the savegame directory, for some reason. Could you zip up your savegame directory and email it to me at the address on this page, please?

On Windows 8, the savegame can be found in:

C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\SavedGames\Survivalist\Survivalist - Saved Data

SavedGames zipped and sent out to you.

Changing keybindings and then trying to "Save Settings" at the menu option kicks me out with the same form error (in the title).

The path is not a legal form.
Could not save settings

Edit: Helps if I send it to the right address...sent it out again.

Edit2: So...it works fine on my laptop, with the exception that my mouse lags a lot. It must be something I broke on the desktop so it's some kinda bug on my end, not with the game, most likely.

Edit 3: I had redirected My Documents at some point (I have no idea when) but resetting the location through Folder Properties fixed the errors.

Hi - thanks for your email, I just sent a reply. I'm guessing the problem is something to do with saving to the Program Files (x86) directory. Not sure why it would suddenly have started happening when you changed a key binding though - was going to look into it today but anyway you got it working.

I have the at least somewhat similar problem, but as my version of windows is in a different language, the path C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\SavedGames\Survivalist\Survivalist - Saved Data\Player 1, which the error report is referencing does not exist.

The error pops up whenever I'm trying to save and basically says Could not enumerate save games and tells me I can't access the aforementioned directory

Is there a way to manually change the save game directory or some other easy workaround?

I am on Win 7 and my game directory is

C:\Users\USERNAME\SavedGames\Survivalist\Survivalist - Saved Data

without the "Documents" subfolder.

Once you find the game save files, you can also copy them to the right folder that the game uses (or also to another PC in the path that the game uses for that PC or Windows version)

Thanks, but doesn't really apply here. The error report that the game generates states that it can't access the directory I mentioned earlier, which makes sense, as it doesn't even exist.

I don't even have a Users folder. Or I do, but it's not named that because it's in finnish, yet that is where the game is apparently trying to save. And so there aren't any save files I could copy anywhere else.

Using Windows 10, if that helps.

I wouldn't worry about the fact it's in Finnish, Windows should be able to handle that. Presumably it will use whatever the Finnish translation of "Users" is, etc. The game uses Microsoft XNA and that is what determines the save path, it should be fine handling different languages or I would have had a lot more problems by now.

However, this bug has now been reported a few times and so far the common thread seems to be that the person has an unusual naming setup for their My Documents folder where the savegame would normally go. Did you try SwissArmyKnife's last suggestion, above: "I had redirected My Documents at some point (I have no idea when) but resetting the location through Folder Properties fixed the errors."?

Here is what another user told me by email:
"Hmmm. Is this a game that prefers C drive? For me C drive is only for the operating system. Everything else goes to F. So the drive path is a lot more convoluted than your example below:
F:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Survivalist\SavedGames\Survivalist\Survivalist - Saved Data
Got it... Deleted back to the main survivalist file, all the others were empty anyways, then restarted, and appears to be working."

I know this is an old topic but I just installed on Windows 10 and got the similar error
"Could not enumerate save game"

Found it was caused by the Ransomware protection - can fix it by going to:

Ransomware Protection in System Settings
'Allow an app through controlled folder access'
'Add app' (Survivalist should be in recently blocked apps if you've just run it)
