Game speed
First of all, I want to say I'm really enjoying this game, thumbs up to the dev.

Second, I have a question concerning the speed of the game... It's kind of slow. I have to set the speed to double to get a realistic feel. Also, dialogue is very slow which isn't a big problem as I can skip with middle mouse button, but it does strengthen the idea that something can be optimized.

So does anyone have any tips? Many thanks in advance!

Do you mean the framerate is slow?

In Steam, if you go to Steam / Settings / In-Game / In-Game FPS Counter and set it to Top Left (or whatever), then run the game it'll show you the framerate in the top left of the screen. Should be 30 by default.

If it's below 30, then there's a problem. If you're on a laptop try changing the power saving settings to allow higher performance.

If it's 30 but you feel the game is "choppy", from the game's main menu go to Settings & Info -> Graphics and tick 60 Frames Per Second, that will make it smoother if your PC can handle it (which most should be able to).

I think he means the game itself. I agree things happen a little slow. With my 3 survivors it's taken me like 3 hours on auto collect to walk from the bunker to Sienna to collect enough wood to build the fence. That is apparently I set Alice to do nothing, I was using Joe to do other quests and explore, and I had that third guy set to collecting the wood. Once I took direct control, fixed Alice, and had Joe start collecting wood to things went much faster... Until Joe went to sleep and I had to wait 2 hours for him to rest enough to reduce his exhaustion as I didn't realize people needed to sleep.

Things are moving along much swifter now though still not fast but I expect things to get much faster as I get more survivors. Overall yes I agree the beginning in slow but I'm enjoying it and looking forwards to the natural speed progression that will happen.

As for the talking I dunno... I find the small sentences I'm done reading them by the before the NPC have said half the sentence but with the long sentences they tend to disappear before I'm done reading them. I wish it paused at each sentence and gave a progress button. But I love how you can walk away mid conversation. Honestly wish more games had that option but off the top of my head with 400+ games I can't think of one. Congrats Bob absolutely loving that.

It's not so much the framerate, it's just that for instance walking is quite slow. Much slower than i see in the clips on the store page for instance.

Will give it a try though, thanks!

I don't mind the game taking time :) Makes it interesting enough to come back when I have some time to kill.

If it's movement speed, are you walking instead of running? If you tap shift while you're moving with a controlled character, you run and it goes a lot faster.

Can a future update maybe increase the "fast forward" speed to maybe 10x? WHen all three of my team have to sleep, it takes forever at 4x for them to be rested. Watching shadows lengthen in 4x time is not a fun way to spend your time.

I agree completly, walking speed is WAY to slow and should be vamped up a bit, other than that, I LOVE this game!!! Came out of nowhere on my que and I am so glad it did, thank you devs!!!!

the issue im finding is when you get people to collect resources, they always walk. now i wouldnt overly want them to run all the way and get killed by a zombie due to fatigue either. buit being able to set it would be nice

I agree with cheezee, making us able to set the suppliers to run until 1/4, 1/2 3/4 or the enitre fatigue bar filled up will make it much better.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned this but, click g it enables the game into 2x, click it again and its 4x you can basically clear the entire map in an amount of seconds if sped up or going through a night of just sleeping in a matter of 30 or so seconds.
