[BUG] Games crashes to desktop and takes the Steam client with it.

I have a weird bug where the game crashes to desktop without any warning and crashes the Steam client as well. I restart Steam and then the game . Save loads OK and plays alright until the next crash.

EDIT: My PC specs:
CPU: Intel i3-2100 @ 3.1 GHz (NOT O/C), 64 bit 2 Physical (4 Logical) Cores
RAM: 16 GB DDR3 @ 2.6 GHz
SSD: 2 TB Internal (Boot), 4 TB External (Games)
HDD: 1 TB Internal (Backup)
O/S: Windows 10 64 bit (22H1)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, Driver 576.40, monitor resolution (native) 2560 x 1440 1440p, DirectX 12, G-SYNC
Sound: Creative Labs Sound BlasterX AE-5
Controller: XBOX 1 wired

I meet all minimum specs for the game except one, my cpu, a fossilized potato.

Game crashed again but did not crash to desktop instead CPU usage dropped from 50% to 0%. Requiring me to terminate the game via Process Lasso Pro. It looks like the CPU throttled but I have never heard of it happening to just one process. It still crashed the Steam client.
