Where is Copper?

I can't find copper anywhere except where my ship crashed. Does anyone know where or at what depth copper is located?

The small drone can be used to scan for ores, tab to open inventory then under the bot click the button to open the list and select either a specific ore or the tier its from.

Useful but only to a point, I've found that a lot of the ore is just one of two blocks worth and that the bot doesn't like coming down below ground so it seems as though the scan simply doesn't work very well. It's almost as though its proximity to the player doesn't take height into account.

Not exactly correct, the drone will follow you underground and while you're there, you only need to have it scan for the ore you're searching for and it will teleport to your location. It is very useful, it just indicates a single cube of that ore, but if you dig around, you will usually find a vein of ore

I've been at the bottom of a pretty deep hole hit the button to scan and the drone was barely visible way, way, way up on the surface. Certainly didn't teleport to me and given the distance I couldn't tell if the scan had happened as nothing within my vicinity was highlighted.

Search for pirates outpost undeground, you'll find plenty of ore nodes

Use the drone to scan for tier 2 ore it may take a few scans but it should eventually find gold. Mine did after finding 4 silver and 2 Tin. I am hunting Silicon now
