How to complete bardwell 3 quest?

Im in the dome bit I can't get close enough to the thong in the middle, and I have no idea what to do with the light crystal.
Youtube shows someone just shooting it with the cleansing gun, but mine only has a range of two blocks and I can't get close enough to it.

Kinda stumped.

light crystal in inventory and use right button on mouse secondary fire :)

After an hour, we figured that out...lol!

There's a hint in the screenshot related to this quest. I spend several hours trying to figure it out, then opened the menu and... Eureka. Needs to be more obvious since many players ask the question.

Yep...there arent even any youtubes out there mentioning it.
Now im trying to figure out what to do with a red darkness spawner as well.
