Ship shields not working well?

Hi! I love the game! But i am having a trouble, the ship shields does not “update” I mean, i have only 1 shield on the shield bar having a tier1 or a tier4.
I have a tier 3 ship with tier 3 shield,but only 1 shield at the bar.
I get damage sooo easily.

u only have 1 shield icon ever... t5 titan has 2 shield icons

look at ur ships stats... i think u need about 1300 shield per icon

Ok, sorry was a T5 shield the one i have, is the Tier 5 scout.

But i had the interceptor tier 2 so basic and tanked more that that one…

scout is fast and manuverable but weak shields and damage... intercepter decent hp and shields best damage great at fighting overall has 4 slots and decent storage.. titan big hp/shields (2 icons) 2600 shield at tier 5 weak damage and no manuverability ( is a portable base)
