Planet Bane Ship is weak and needs tweaking
Ok so apparently this is the best ship currently in the game overall being a Titan class ship. It is listed as having lots of shields and health, but the actual stats do not seem to agree with that. I see 2 shield bars where most of the other ships have 1.

Pirates rip through those shields as if they were not even there. If this is going to be listed as a Titan class ship, I would expect Titan class results. The Level 5 weapons take just as long to go through targets as Level 1 it feels. I have been destroyed by lower level ships because they have speed on their side, but I should be able to soak some damage to make up for the lack of maneuvers.

Instead when I get hits on them they shrug it off and zoom past like I shot a water gun at them. Sure if you can get them pinned down and maybe get a good lock for the Phoenix missiles then you can pummel them, but equal level ships of lower class still take forever to destroy.

Also why can they pull you out of cruise so easily and get 4-5 hits on you (basically removing any shields you do have) before you can get any shots on them.

Yeah, it does feel a bit weak. I think the devs wanted ship combat to be dangerous even in a bigger ship.

Also, the Titan class isn't necessarily the best for combat, either - it's the best cargo and utility ship, but there are ships that can arguably roast it in ship to ship combat.

A couple tips:
1) Focus fire the weaker ships first. Kill the drones and do NOT stand still. Always strafe, move, etc.
2) Don't spam or rely on just missiles. Keep the fire on them at all times, especially for anything bigger than a drone. If you don't keep hitting them, the shield recharge (which feels way too quick) will kick in and you won't kill them.
3) Don't be afraid to retreat and re-engage. If you cruise out of there, most of the time they won't pursue. Pirates don't respawn, so sometimes you have to whittle them down until you get the hang of it.
I use my Planet Bane for storage when I visit the space station and I main the Red Fighter. If I was going to try to main the Planet Bane I would probably try to engage fast travel again while dodging bullets if I ever got ambushed by Pirates. Then if i wanted to hunt signals in space I would take out the Red Fighter.

But yea, the Planet Bane would be nice if it had enough shields to avoid taking damage while you try to re-jump and get away. Shields melt so fast they are nearly pointless.

I just tweaked the cfg files so my Bane is now a mobile fortress..lol 18k life 15k shield 500 damage, warp range 3 instead of its normal 1.5
Planet Bane is a mobile base not a combat ship... imo it should have weapons removed and bigger shields

Agreed. You should not have the 'best' of everything in one ship. Why bother with any others if this is the case.

Planet Bane should only be used as a mobile base and inteceptor/fighters should be combat vessels.

sounds to me like it needs to be recommissioned to cargo Trade hauler status. Beef it up for cargo hauling. Need a bigger bus ship to haul your small fast pirate killer.
Okay so I am sort of making it balanced with the ships. But I do need some pointers on ship kinds. since the game has scouts, interceptors, fighters, titans, and dreadnoughts. What is the progression?

Scout> interceptor> fighter> Titan> Dreadnought, or is it something different?

I have yet to see a dreadnought, where can they be found?

I haven't bothered with it but my understanding is that interceptors are better than titans at space combat. I find the Planet Bane plenty good enough for end-game pirates, but I have to watch my shields and be careful.

Tell me please, how do you suggest playing this game? I'm flying on a titan and what should I do when I'm attacked? The developer didn't give the ability to instantly change the ship right in space! Yes, that's right, with such game mechanics, players will try to have one universal ship, because the rest is meaningless!

This is not an MMO and not even a co-op game yet, what balance are you talking about? There is none! The ship's shields and weapons are 10 times weaker than those on the character! I was already thinking about getting out of the ship during a space battle and shooting from a sniper rifle - the damage would be even greater)

All ship is brutal weak vs cheating pirate ships what use fighters with 60k hp + and dreadnout with 100k hp i hit dread wit red rocket 6k dmg 20x adn dread is still live nice

Most likely, the game included modifications for shipboard weapons as well as for regular ones, and high-level mods were supposed to significantly increase damage. But the mechanics of shipboard weapon modifications have not been introduced, and all the ships seem to be garbage.

IMHO, Red Fighter is a much better ship than the Planet Bane. It's faster and stronger. Sure, you have less slots and less room for crafting stations/chests, but just keep a portal in your inventory and you can teleport back to your base from anywhere but space.

Yeah, red fighter is a great combat ship.

But the best of both worlds is to have both. I use planet bane as a mobile crafting station. I get out of the red fighter, switch ships, and then run into planet bane to do crafting. I filled in the entire U shape in the middle to turn it into living quarters. Right now it's just the top level, but I plan to do the bottom as well.
