Darkness Purifier tiers - what do they do?
I recently upgraded my Darkness Purifier tool to Tier 2 but I'm not seeing much difference in its range (how far it can purify dark blocks - still have to be pretty close to them) or area of effect (still just a single block), and it's hard to see if the Light Strike has a bigger area of effect or more power, either.

What exactly do the tier upgrades do here? The Purifier tool isn't showing any stats that I could compare.

Currently nothing as there's no difference in cleansing speeds. I've also tested range, it's all the same. Which also makes the Knight bonus silly :)

I mean skills themselves are bugged, when you highlight a skill it shows a empty tooltip box where I assume thats supposed to say what its bonuses are.

Best I can tell: Higher rank tools increase the range at which you can call in the light strike, so YES, it is worth upgrading. But that is the only difference of note. Basically: Right click function on the glowgun works from further away. Seems like a difference of ~3 blocks per level. (approx 10 feet)

Either that or the range was consistently buffed as I was playing through to align coincidentally well with when I was upgrading my tool.
higher tier purifiers let u light strike from further away.. other than that havent seen any other changes
just remember t1 purifier u have to be taking damage from walkers to light strike them.... i have t7 purifier and i my ship doesnt even start taking damage now.. also u dont have to make them i found my t7 purifier in a chest on a planet also found about 15 t6 purifiers... cant sell them very often... once maybe every 100 traders? kinda rare to sell tbh

Only difference with tiers for them (for now) is ray length and purify damage.
T1: 25 Ray Length with 0.25 purify damage
T5: 45 Ray Length with 0.5 purify damage

Do you happen to remember which planet you found the T7 on?

Don't know if it's because I'm max character level already, including mining; but all your gear worries will be muted once you reach the Cleansing of Quberion Act. It's Tier 8 tools, named gear including weapons and armour, and glowing mats everywhere. Bring your stash of Keycards (final tier, light blue) and you can open all the ruins and raid all the pirate holes to your heart's content after cleansing any of the 3 planets required in the Act quest.
