Negative reviews
I noticed that this game is getting more negative than positive reviews in last time, what do You think about that, what is the reason? Reviews for this game have dropped from 84% to 72% and it will soon have mixed reviews.

Mainly it is about complaints about coop mode. Here i can copy paste the info what was already dropped on Friday - "we are currently working on bringing full quest progression while connected to online sessions. In addition to that we'll be focusing on other issues like item interactions, vehicle repairing and crafting. We'll update you as soon as we can share more details."

Also some small emergency "ninja" fixes will be released as soon as anything will be fixed. for example like "dead zones" for controllers.

To me it seems at least some of the folks are complaining about things like resource cost being too "high" or stuff that honestly seems like they havent visited many other planets....Like people complaining about "coal", saying it takes "hours" to get "enough", this is no joke one of the top "negative" reviews right now.

There is a planet in the starter system that has these gigantic "horn" formations that are 100% pure wood. Mining just one of those nets over 600 wood and it takes maybe 10 minutes?

With that one inventory load (mind you I only have a T4 backpack), and nearly fully upgraded smelters, I can smelt more ore than I can physically carry in my pack.

This just truly seems like folks never played minecraft or have any concept of much past instant gratification.

How many hours did the folks who did play minecraft go farming for diamond? How many coal did combine with wood to make a BILLION torches to light those thousand mile underground tunnels?

I can only pray the Devs don't read this stuff and get disheartened; this game is a GREAT take on this genre and I very much hope they can weather these knee jerk reaction reviews.

True that, i'm only T3 myself, but from i've seem so far, if you are having trouble finding resources, you are looking in the wrong place.

It's that a game that should have released in early access went full release with severe to game-breaking issues and crashes. Expectations are much higher when a game is in full release, and negative reviews show that it's not meeting those.

As a solo player I have enjoyed the game so far. Early on resource managment is a bit hurdle but after you reach to second planet everything is relaxed and you can focus more on exploration and fighting.

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but this game feels like a blend of No Man’s Sky and Minecraft. When a game uses voxel blocks similar to Minecraft, players naturally expect similar mechanics. However, this game seems to take a different approach. Mining is central to Minecraft, digging into the ground to find ores is a core part of the experience. In a voxel based game, that’s what we’re used to. The scanning process here, though, feels tedious. I suspect the scanner spawns ores rather than revealing them. I tested this by searching an area with the scanner and finding nothing. Then, using QB-1, I found ore exactly where I had just looked. After that, scanning again revealed even more ores. This mechanic undermines the mining experience and makes it feel artificial.

I understand co-op is being improved, which is great because solo play isn’t very engaging right now. These types of games are more fun with friends. I usually play with my girlfriend, but today she just watched me play alone. Please prioritize fixing co-op. Also, why can’t a friend stand on the ship while we fly? Why aren’t they able to embark with us? That seems like a missed opportunity for cooperative play.

One standout positive is the craft from chest feature. It’s one of the best quality of life mechanics a game like this can have, and I really appreciate it. That said, I’m struggling to connect with the game overall. I’m trying to understand its identity, but it feels like No Man’s Sky and Minecraft stripped of the features that make those games special. I wish it offered more to bridge that gap.

It makes sense to me. The game as it is currently should be in early-access. It's like 90% of the way there for me compared to other games I've played throughout the early-access life. But it FOR SURE needs more polish and testing. Wouldn't call this a completed game. But hey AAA companies have released ♥♥♥♥ way worse off than this so *shrug*

Extremely unlikely scanners spawns ore as it would be infinitely more tedious to do so than simply have ores being part of the proc gen.
Dragon May 19 @ 1:14am
As above, ore doesn't spawn from the QB1 scan, when you hit the first purple ore make sure you hit your own area scan - it reveals ore through walls within like 5 meters of you. You probably just missed it the first time. You can test this because QB1's scan can sometimes fail to find ores.

I agree, there are people who like the current difficulty, and I would like the developer to leave the option to play at this difficulty level for those who want it!

is this poster a jealous fan of minecraft monopoly?

you dont actually need that much wood, you can just feed dirt or stone to the recycler and get those fuel cells, which can also fuel burners. the game just does a bad job at telling you.

over all if this game is minecraft X no mans sky. sure, but it is like minecraft 0.5 X original release no mans sky (which sucked balls to be honest).

after the awe settles and you start seeing, that for example the kill the pirates quest is always the same location, or that the PIOs are just 100x copy&paste of the same thing with 1 or 2 chests in it, then it gets dull pretty quick.

then you leave your system in the interceptor, meet the first space fight against a ship which is 10 lvls above you, but the enemy AI is so bad, you cant actually call it AI, that once you get behind the enemy ship, the fight is essentially over, it just takes ages for you to kill the other ship at that point.

then you start exploring a little more, trying things out here and there and you start noticing things, which are bugged, unfinished or completely broken.

like, have you tried building a fence with the fence blocks? just unfinished.

have you tried using the elevator block? mine now hovers 300 meters above my base, with no way to get it back down.

and the list goes on and on and on. as an early access game it would be fine, but as a full release it is just bad. bugged and unfinished.

i have the feeling that you guys had only singleplayer in mind but then 80% through developement decided to make it multiplayer... because there are clear indicators for this.

the quest part isnt really one but that for example ONLY the host can even do things (for example repairing the speeder and the ship and others can not) is one example.

another example is that theres no way to share a base, if i try to get doors replaced and lights can i not do that and the host gets a "base under attack" message, you guys need to add a share base option.
another thing is that the host can craft on the crafting bench without the need to have the materials in the inventory, they can be just in the chest while non-hosts can not do this, they need to have the materials in their inventory.

i can understand that all this gives negative reviews because its just not nice for the multiplayer experience.

the game probably plays fine in singleplayer mode but multiplayer is not only because of the P2P connection not nice, there are many more factors which you guys forgotten.

you guys should aswell step away from the Peer to Peer connection and using steams online API. its way smother and steam always tries to find a good solution between all the players and trie´s to minimize lag/desync.

I mean, lets be real here, alot of those issues shouldn't have existed at release, its almost like the co-op wasn't tested much at all or else they would have been made apparent real quick. I'm waiting for all the co-op issues to ge fixed before I get the game myself, as I am going to also get a friend to buy it to play it with me. But he will want co-op to be working perfectly. I am also waiting to see if the game has any sort of a mod community. Just because there is no base support for mods (yet) doesn't mean it can't be modded, it just depends if there is people intersted in doing it. As otherwise a game like this is basically a 1 time thru type deal, since it has a set main story that is static every game, including locations of things from people say, its not like No man's sky, where the story quest stuff can spawn on random planets, so you get a diff expereince each time. Game is on my wishlist though and going to watch it as I am intersted.

For an example how much mods can increase the life of a game, 7 days to die is over 10 years old at this point, and I still play it off and on because of overhaul mods. I have over 11000 hours in that game total at this point. Most of that playing with massive overhaul mods, as the vanilla game is honestly quite boring. Its not a game i'd reccomend if you don't plan to heavily mod it.
