how do i get a -craft a- make a- retrieve a temple key? on new planet and tutorial just says get a key. i do not remember how i got the first one. thank you in advance.

There are three types of temples. One where you cleanse the planet, one with the light beams and one that has a chest inside guarded by pirates with a key.
Just look on the map and check other symbols looking similar to light beam temple.
Also you can find keys in those mineshafts made out of the ancient blocks you got in the first corruption portal to block the lasers.
