Save image not matching the actual save and other save issues

So I JUST started a new game after wiping my old save (I even went in to the folder to make sure old saves were wiped). I have literally only jumped out of the landing spot and haven't even reached the ruins yet. I saved and exited to main menu. But when I hit load it shows 2 save files (one must be an auto/exit save). The images for both show me standing inside the ruins and for one of them it even shows a placed crafting station. I tried loading the latter and it loads me in correctly next to the crashed ship instead of where it shows in the image, but that is very confusing when you have to figure out which save to load.

It would be nice if save images actually showed the view from the player character at the time of the save - like it works in most other games that show an in-game picture for individual saves.

It would also be nice if the list of saves included info of which is a manual save and which is an auto save. If that is already a thing then I have missed it somehow, because to me they all look the same aside from different pictures and time stamps. But if I wanna load a previous save it would be SO much easier if I could look for the right picture as in "I saved when I was standing in front of my storages, so I just need to look for that picture".

Aside from that there doesn't seem to be a way to delete individual saves. You can only delete your character including all saves for that character. The list quickly gets confusing to look through - especially when you can't easily see which is your last manual save and which is an auto save. Before I deleted my old saves I had only saved 4-5 times, but I had a much longer list of saves than that and I struggled to actually find my last manual save. Even when loading the latest save (according to the time stamp) it set me back to "craft a T2 extractor" even though I was at the "find gold" stage when I manually saved the last time. And the weird thing is that when I got the objective to craft a T2 extractor I already had all the resources needed to craft it, so I never left my base while doing that step of the quests. But when I loaded the save where I'm on that step it loaded me in standing away from my base. So the game doesn't always save your current position??

Edit: Okay after the latest round of hotfixes the wrong image issue appears to be fixed at least
