I was build a base and....

A giant tree spawned right inside of it, and is now covering majority of my base. I'm talking about like one of those giant ass tree's you see off in the distance too.

Had a tree spawn for me too, but it spawned next to my base instead of in it.
Either way, free wood!

had the same thing happen. noticed i had 4 saplings to i planted them a short distance from my base and 1-2 ingame days went past and all of a sudden during night time get notice of enemys and thats when i noticed it, a GIANT freaking mushroom tree had spawned in the area i placed those saplings, they werent even mush saplings. the thing is ginormous, i wont have wood issues for a long time.

Had one spawn right outside the base. I hadn't even seen the tree until I got a meteor notification and started looking. The meteor hit dead center at the top of the tree. Talk about free wood and leaves all over the place.

This is a known occurrence. Even in the Demo, if you planted a Sapling, there was a high probability that 1 in 4 would turn into these gigantic Mushroom-shaped Trees. In one You Tube play-through, the You Tuber turned the Tree into his Base. He hollowed out the tree and built his base inside it. Multi-Level Base, too, and used Elevators instead of stairs.
