Controller not working

I cant get the controller to move the body (I can navigate the menue with controller)? tried a wired controller and xbox elite controller. Any ideas?

Tried anoher controller no luck, tried big picture no luck, Tried uninstalling drivers, no luck

I have been working on getting it to work since 5am and have tried everything short of uninstalling Windows 10 without any luck. DF is one of my favorite companies and I cannot believe they would release a product that is this shoddily tested.

dang, I am very close to requesting refund. I cant stand platform on a keyboard

I do not really want to request a refund, as I am a huge fan of DF and think that thier games are unique in the gaming world, but at the same time I ordered this the moment it was availbale and planned on playing it until No Man's Sky came out, so I may have to get a refund and put that money towards another game.

No reason keeping money in a game I cannot even enjoy.

We'd love more details about the following:

-OS version
-controller type(s)
-troubleshooting attempted so far (including if you've uninstalled programs that could interrupt input such as vJoy)
-whether this is the first time this issue has occurred or if other games encounter a similar problem

-Windows 10
-DualShock4
-Uninstalled reinstalled the game
-Uninstalled reinstalled DS4 windows
-I tested out some other steam games just to make sure it wasn't anything wrong on my end.

-Windows 10 64bit
-Xbox Elite Controller (Wireless and wired)
-Uninstalled device drivers, removed all USB devices, removed Logtiech Gaming software, removed Game Pad, updated Xbox Elite controller, installed Xbox acc. program, removed pinacle game software.
-All games work with controller except this one
