Screen simply black right after hitting play.

I just bought this game(Contrary to my friendslist's advice), and the moment I push play the game's window is white for a few seconds, before then turning black.
There is no sound or movement, however the popups from Steam in the bottom right come up. Shift + Alt Tabbing causes the Steam Overlay to open up just fine, but the game remains a black, void screen. I can move the screen around, and minimize it as I please, and the Taskmanager says it is responding perfectly. I checked the integrity of the local files and everything checks out.

Anyone got any ideas as to how I can fix this? I've sat here waiting for the screen to stop being black now for a good 15-20 and it's still unresponsive. :\

I got the same problem too, I even made sure i was in directx 9, checked the files, redownloaded the game here, Even torrented the game to see if it was steams fault...always a black screen...
I use a Radeon HD 7450 graphics card on windows 7

This is like the one remaining problem we have yet to get to the bottom of. It's most definitely a graphics issue. Some people have been able to solve it by upgrading their drivers or even downgrading to a more compatible version of the driver. We of course will continue to investigate. I do apologize, I know it most be frustrating.

Also, guys, someone just brought up an interesting point in the troubleshooting thread, so I added this to it:

Corrupt save file?
Use this as a last resort, especially if you have already made progress before your game stopped working. It's possible that somehow, your save file was corrupt. Deleting your save file would resolve this issue. On Windows, the save file is usually located in ("C:/Users/*username*/AppData/LocalLow/HuniePot/HuniePop/"). On Mac it's usually located in ("/Users/*username*/Library/Caches/HuniePot/HuniePop/").

The first time I loaded it, it loaded perfectly. I then tried to changed it to full screen and it went black and has not worked since. I updated my drivers, I changed all the settings to all the suggestions I could find. I redownloaded the game and steam and still just a black screen. It is driving me nuts because it worked that one time for like a minute.

Oh I am on an acer aspire v5 windows 8 and the video card mentioned in another thread as a possible problem for this game.

the game is there its just on far left outside black screen i just updated to windows 10 from 8.1 and now instead of complete black screen on far left i can see part of the game screen still cant play it yet but it is there

This is true for me, too. I recieved the game a few days ago but all that happens after loading is a black screen with half the HunieBee on the left-hand side. I can't even open the Steam overlay as the game won't go into full-screen mode. (I assume this isn't a bug, but the first part definitely is.)
I appreciate you taking the time to try to fix this, though!

Well 11 months since the last answer of the dev and still now in december im getting a blackscreen and theres no valid fix, i guess i've just wasted my money on this one

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could find a fix for this. I've literally played only 2 hours and am getting the black screen. I got it on steam sale and am one date away from the first date night. PLEASE SEND HELP.
