The date puzzles get way too hard. Not fun.
I'm even playing on easy, but late in the game I'm going on dates where it takes almost 3000 points to win. It seems like it's mostly luck whether or not I get the right pieces to get enough points. It's way too hard.

You need to pick the right date gifts and have your Traits boosted. Then all of a sudden it becomes pretty easy.

Eventually you have all flowers and all perfumes, equip the ones that match the girl's "Most Desired Trait", you may also want to use the Pink and Leopard Heels.

I use it in this order:
  • Pink Heels: Gives Sentiment for Passion matches
  • Leopard Heels: Gives +1 Move for 4 or more matched tokens
  • Perfume: Makes the chosen token type drop more
Here I add the Bear and Penguin Plushies, those seem to be the best.
You may wanna try the Passion perfume to also drop more Passion tokens.

The Leopard Heels seem to be one of the best date gifts (for me, that is,) they let you do free moves while also encouraging you to make matches of 4 or 5.

Hope this helps :B1:

Its all about date gifts bro. Once you get good ones you'll blow through the dates with ease.

Thats actually another cool aspect of this game. If your date gift build sucks you'll never get anywhere.

  • Pink Mary James: +1 Sentiment for each Passion match for the whole date
  • Stuffed Monkey: +2% affection for each Broken Heart visible
  • Stuffed Bear: convert all Broken Hearts to Passion
  • (Insert Color Here) Flower: Consume all (flower color) tokens
  • Heart Necklace: +2% affection for each Passion level
  • Sunflower: +1 Move for each Joy (bell) token after the first 2.

With the above build, I no longer fail dates, regardless of complexity. The routine is this, and this exactly:

Before you start the date, you need to look at your date girl's spec sheet and see what color token she likes most, and what she likes least. Grab the appropriate "consume all" color flower for what she likes most prior to the start of the date.

  1. Your first move should be to match 3+ Sentiment tokens (blue tear drop), and immediately use the Pink Mary James. From then on, you'll get a Sentiment point for all Passion matches.

  2. You MUST concentrate on building passion up. Get it up above at least level 10 before you bother with token matching. Remember to go for 4+ matches! Look across the whole screen for tokens you can pull in from the opposite side. This isn't Candy Crush; you can pull tokens from across an entire row or column. Also, grab Joy matches as a filler. Pretty much those 3 token types, in that order is all you should be matching at this stage.

  3. Try to keep Sentiment above 6 as you are able, every time you see a 3+ match, grab it and move back to Passion matching.

  4. As you are matching Passion tokens (along with other incidental matches), Broken Hearts will start amassing. I try to wait until there's at least one Broken Heart on every row, or nearly. Once you get past your comfort level, use the Stuffed Monkey. Ideally this doesn't drop your Sentiment to zero. Important: DO NOT use the Stuffed Bear prior to using the Monkey. There are rarely enough moves left to build Broken Hearts back up.

  5. As soon as you get enough Sentiment, use the Stuffed Bear this should create at least a couple of 4+ match setups for Passion; grab all of the Passion matches right away.

  6. At this point you should be at 14-16 Passion level. Time to move in for the kill. Get your Sentiment back up enough to use the Flower. Usually the date is finished successfully with that move.

  7. IF and ONLY IF you are running out of moves, shift sentiment focus towards using the Sunflower. The trick is to save it for lots of Joy tokens on the board, but don't wait so long as to not have enough moves to build sentiment.

  8. If needed, pull out the Atom Bomb: the Heart Necklace. This is dangerous if used incorrectly, as it wipes out all your passion. You need to visualize on the Affection bar whether the timing is right to use this. If you only have level 10 Passion, you'll get +20% Affection; if, however, you're at only 75% Affection, there's a good chance you won't have enough moves to gather affection AND build Passion back up. Use this gift as a last resort.

tl;dr: The method I use takes a little practice, but I literally NEVER fail a date with it once I got the hang of it. Steps 1 and 2 are critical, but really the whole order and flow I give is necessary for the routine to work.

I would like to see (if it doesn't) the puzzles plateau. I've hit 3000 needed (gotten all the girls) and that seems to be about my challenge level. It would be nice if we could choose to stop it. Obviously I could start another game, but I'd rather keep playing the old one

You're at 3000 affection on dates and have successfully dated all 12 girls? Last I saw the affection got up to something like 4600. I'm at a full 100% completion, but that's on normal mode.

I drop Suede Ankle Booties (3 sentiment for every 4-match) immediately to fuel everything else.

Shiny Lipstick: If I've got a really good setup with her favorite color (pending 4-match including a power token), I can trigger a second power token and cash in on 6x (9x?) points out of it with maxed multiplier.

If things start out looking weak, I'll use the perfume to boost whatever color I need.

The last 3 are get-out-of-jail cards: Stuffed Monkey for +2% for each broken heart.
Stuffed penguin for converting those hearts to bells, and then
Sunflower for converting all of them (except the first 2) to extra moves. Obviously, make sure you're NOT going to cause cascades with the initial Broken Hearts -> Bells switch.

I'd say the least important here is probably Monkey. I might swap him out later, but my dates are up to 4,310 and so far so good.

I'm pretty sure the secret girls have a boost of difficulty applied to them, and successful dates with them continue to build the general difficulty of the game.

While I'm succeeding on every date with my build/routine, I also don't think I can say that Stuffed Monkey isn't important. I *always* use the SM, but only *sometimes* use the Heart Necklace. IMO, the SM serves as a good "kick off" to the affection building. It's typically the first Affection boon that occurs in my routine, with most of the time before that used to build Passion and Sentiment.

Having gotten to 100% completion, I can say the routine/build I described in my previous post really does work best for me, and honestly I can say that -- having used them all -- no other gifts have the kind of utility that the ones I mention do.

I was looking at my setup as I wrote that. Are you sure you aren't confusing stuffed monkey with something else? You shouldn't be kicking off anything with Stuffed Monkey, it takes all broken hearts on the board and gives you +2 affection for each. Even with a saturated board, the most you'll ever see without combos is probably 12-13, and that is pushing it hard without causing combos. It's a max effectiveness of maybe 25-30% of your needed total, then. I find it's good as a last gasp and it's gotten me out of some pickles before, but no way I'd use it first, ever.

Compare that with taking those 12 broken hearts and adding the 8 or so bells and having 20 bells on the board, and converting 18 of those into new turns, pretty much doubling my play time. Pretty sure I make up that 30% max affection I was going to get out of the monkey easily.

No, check my earlier post where I give my full strat. I'm not kicking off with Stuffed Monkey; it's simply the first Affection boon I typically get. Stuffed Monkey doesn't remove the Broken Hearts, hence my next step of using Stuffed Bear which *does* consume all the Broken Hearts. It's not necessary to use Stuffed Monkey, but the idea behind that portion of my routine is that I'm about to clear all the Broken Hearts with Stuffed Bear, and just prior to doing so I get an affection boon with Stuffed Monkey. It's like a big chunk of Affection just prior to lots of open-range matches having then cleared Broken Hearts with Stuffed Bear (no more BH's in the way of lots of solid matches).

Yet i'm struggling with less than 1000, what the ♥♥♥♥ that game is not fun when you cant even get 350 due to the amount of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ goes on within the turns, tried doing the passion thing and it doesn't work because I RUN OUT OF ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TURNS, ♥♥♥♥ this game, it has no logic to its puzzles at all.

Wow. And I thought the bedroom minigame was unbeatable. Didn't know about any of this or you could get other date gifts. I only got two and one was given to me.
