Are the Vintage Platforms bugged, or just intentionally bad?
5 Sentiment for a single use date gift which breaks the moment you match the wrong token type is... pretty underwhelming.

I thought you could at least match two different token types, including the one you selected, but it still removes the effect.

It does have a use, obviously involving stacking the grid with a single token type, but other date gifts capitalize on that much better. You might be able to get 4-5 free moves out of it if you plan ahead, are extremely careful not to combo anything by accident, and hope the newly generated tokens don't match anything either, but practically anything else can give much more than that.

Gold/Hoop Earrings and Sunflower cost 6 with a huge payout. Stuffed Penguin remove broken hearts, and Leopard Print Pumps last for the entire date. These cost 8, but give a lot of +movement.

Why waste a slot and 5 sentiment for a couple extra moves under such precise circumstances?

Anyone had any good results from something like Perfume+Cork Wedge+Flower+Vintage?

I pair Gold Earrings (+1 move for every 2 Joy) and Sunflower (Consume Joy for moves) since the former doesn't eat up/consume the necessary Joy tokens. Good lifesaver so far, give about 10+ moves total. None of my items consume Broken Hearts though, but they're usually few enough in number to work around.

P.S. Normal difficulty.

Sorry, what is vintage platform? I don't memorize/look at the item's name so i don't know.

here's my item build

They are the shoes that do:

The ones that stop the turn countdown as long as you continue matching the same ONE particular type of token.

Pretty weak effect, I'll say so too. The likeliness is a little too low for it to be worthwhile, considering how much better many other items are. Maybe for a larger board (more rows x columns) it might be helpful.

They should only cost 3 for what they do, but they'd still get replaced once you have more than six date gifts. The current 5 cost would be good if the move counter didn't decrease so long as you match that token each turn, to allow for combos. But to make it really interesting, they could cost 8 and last for the entire date, so matching your chosen token no longer reduces your move counter.

Just gift till you get something actually usefull.
I love the combo of get moves equal to the amount of broken heats, and turn the broken hearts to some thing usefull.
I used passion, but you may want to do something else.
I also had one that turn broken hearts into err sympathy?
The tear drop ones, so i could use all my gifts.
That one i rarily used.
Then i ued one consume all of one type of token(the red ones i usuaully kept usuing)
And consume 10 random tokens.
Some times i also used the give % of goal for the amount of broken heart containers, but almost never used that one.
Then i looked for if i could set up a 5 passion or have the turn to passion could compleat some 3 matches when i used my turn the broken to passion.
But i liked having 2 items getting rid of broken hearts, almost never used both tho.
The gives moves i tried to always use and the turn to passion one too.

Agreed. Will lower cost to 3 Sentiment for future update.

Why not tweak how it works instead. Rather don't allow sentiment, bells and broken hearts to be selected and the effect to be broken just like how ankle boots work. Only count the blue, green, brown and red tokens

Ideally I would want many of the gifts to be considered useful to promote different styles of play. Lowering the cost to 3 Sentiment doesn't make it viable for endgame loadouts, but it does improve it from "replace ASAP" tier.

Personally I would never use the "consume one row/column/3x3 block" gift, and I'm not sure how to improve those to the point where I would. Also perfumes and flowers are a bit too likely to appear since there's one for each token type, which means you're far more likely to get one you don't want. I'd suggest condensing them into a "your choice of affection" and a "your choice of Joy/Sentiment/Passion" along with a cheaper broken hearts one. However some people do like to bring a bunch of flowers for all different types of affection tokens...

I think the reason the 1 whole column and 3x3 block is not that strong is because of the matching bugs that I reported, 4+ match will sometimes fail to be recognized when it is chained (after the initial match).

I've used it early-mid progress and it is strong especially when power gems clumps up on that 3x3 grid of column. 1 whole row sucks though

Or you can also use those as a setup for 4-5 match, but don't see a matching gem on a particular or column

3x3 is very useful when a L match (5 matches in L shape) is in sight
1 whole column is very useful you see a possible 4+ match on bells, but don't see a bell on that column, so you use the 1 whole column date gift as a "re-roller". .

Repositioning is their main purpose, since if you actually wanted to consume the tokens you'd use a different date gift for that. But they still take up a slot and use sentiment that's much better reserved for something else.

I'd rather they simply remove a row/column, including broken hearts, and cost less. Possibly reusable throughout the date, but that'd take more work to implement.

It's just unfortunate that if you don't get them early on, you'll never really use them over anything else you could bring by then.

Although to be fair, you do get a bit of leeway to play however you want. Earlier I completed a date at 6650 affection without using either the Heart or Pearl Necklace, which I had brought along and planned to use, and even had turns to spare in the end.

Can anyone explain how the ♥♥♥♥ the vintage platforms works?

First, like the OP said even at a cost of only 3 sentiment they are not a powerful date gift.

After you give the vintage platforms you have a number of "free" moves. That number is the times you can make consecutive matches with a declared token type.

Example: I give the shoes, I am asked which token type I want to choose. I choose the type that I have the most consecutive moves lined up. Then on the next two or three moves when I match that token type the number of moves remaining does not go down. :hp_kyu:

Woah this brings me back.

Vintage Platforms work as follows:
Drag the date gift from your inventory to the girl, consuming 3 Sentiment
Choose a token type from the board
Matching that token type, and only that token type, will not cost any Move
The effect will break if any other token type is matched, intentionally or otherwise

You can check if the effect is still active by looking at the top right near the girl and seeing the icon of the date gift there.
