Hey, to block a dunk you've got to be close to the opponent, to block a lay up you've got to be near the basket and jump when the opponent is shooting/releasing the ball. Well even though I think that's not as simple it seems

Have you done tutorials ?

for dunk u need to line up ur characters block hand with opponents dunking hand and have to be close. also i think interent connection plays huge role. C and PF its 70% interent connection and 30% skill
Yeah internet connection is the main thing. Oh, if you want to practice block, go to challenge mode. Keep trying, and If you can get 3000 points... BAM!! You still need a good internet connection though lol

First what you need is a good ping, the second it the position and timing. To block a dunk you need to stand right in front of the opponent and for a layup, you need to stand close to the rim and jump when he shoots.

To block dunks block the body (line him up with a direct line to the rim and be close). To block layups block the ball (although blocking hte body will usually block the ball as well unless it's a manual layup).

For dunks you gotta block early in teh dunk animation, if u wait you wont get the block (ping probably matters here, I say probably because I'm not one of the developers so not 100% sure). You have to be close to the player when he starts the animation too, if u wait under the net and he does a long dunk you probably aren't going to block it.

All in all, blocking these shots ends up being a gamble where you gotta pick whether you want to block a manual layup on the far side or dunk.

My first character was a centre that I played up to lvl24. I switched to SG when I realized that I could not win rebounds against lesser rated bigs with better ping than mine.

If your ping is over 50, then eventually you will need to change position to be competitive.
