look on the Ball Mark on the Floor at the same time watch the ball from the air. You can use tip in, dunk reb and chip out if you can manage to box out with another player. Plus add more Rebound Attributes for Higher Rebound. Main point is always box out and watch the ball where it lands.

not the best C, but guess i can help you out with these questions based on my experience.

to do power rebound, press w and d simultaneously. do note that power rebound gives you increased rebound width at the cost of rebound height, so only use it when the ball bounces far out away from you.

for tip in and putback dunk, you need to be facing the hoop, so box out is pretty useful here in helping you face the correct direction. you need to double tap D and for me, it feels as if tip in and put back dunk is slightly slower than the normal rebound, so i would usually prefer normal rebound over tip in or putback dunk if the ball is hotly contested. i would only use tip in when i am not under pressure say for instance when fighting for rebound against a sf or anyone shorter.

chip out is probably a very useful skill for pf to compete for rebounds against C since chip out > rebound, at least in fssb 1. however, i play C so i personally do not use chip out since my rebound range is pretty high up already. (info: a rookie C can even rebound from slightly above the square above the hoop, a major C can rebound even higher.)

i assume a rookie C will put 1 full bar of reb stats. with 2 full bars of reb stats, you can literally kal reb any low bounces already. most default high lvl C will have 3 full bars of reb stats. it may seem a bit weird that a rookie C can reb that high up with reb stats not even exceeding 200 but yea it is true, i tried myself already, a rookie C with 1 full bar of reb stats (aka 5 points into reb), non-spc and not wearing clothes giving reb attributes have a max vertical reb range that is slightly above the square on the backboard.

But I would recommend Full Rebound and Tussle since Tussle increases your power of boxout that push your opponents and increase success rate to get the ball when 2 people jump at the same time. More Tussle more Chance of Having the Ball with ease. I would know because I've been facing many Pro Centers on Major Channel.

Let me rephrase Aorl's post.
Press D when the ball is going down, you'll eventually get the hang of it.

Thank you so much for the tip, it's frustating to get the timing right for tip in and put back dunk, so chip out is more useful? Thanks a lot man..

glad to be of help. if you are a pf, i do highly recommend you to get chip out. if not, you would have a very hard time competing for rebound with a C. do note that for high bounces, a pf would still lose to a C when it comes to catching the ball. chip out only helps u get bounces that are far away from the net as C moves very slow. of course, this is all on the assumption that you and the C are of equal skill level, same distance away from the basket and also having the same ping, which is almost never the case. Usually, the determining factor is that the person with the lowest ping will win the rebound regardless of skill level, which i know is unfair, but hey that's life ;) (i have 6 ping and i have an average of 7+ rebounds per game)

i don't personally use tip in and putback dunk, but as a beginner guide, for tip in, wait for the ball to be directly above your character's head, make sure you are facing the basket (you should be because of box out) then double tap D quickly. as for putback dunk, i am not too sure, but i dont recommend it unless you are in star channel or something since if you miss the putback dunk, the recover time is extremely high.

play at ping under 30 ms, its important to rebound,
