Broken shield icon above character?

I haven't found anything about this yet...after a combat Lightbringer has a broken shield icon pulsing above him. Query shows no info. Switching out all equip makes no difference. Using bedroll makes no difference. No indication on character sheet of anything different. What does it mean and how do I deal with it? Thanks!

That icon means your armor is reduced, most likely caused by an enemy that used a skill on you. Basically you'll take more damage while that icon is above your head.

You can reduce enemy's armor by using certain skills on them (like Sunder Armor), you'll see that icon above their head too.

Thank you! How do I remove the effect? Or is it timed?

It is timed, although I've seen some players report that effect icons may get stuck on, if it is stuck on forever restarting the game should clear it.
