Well ♥♥♥♥ I'm sold. Going to buy it now :)
The most dumbed down rpg I ever saw.
But it's well priced
That's fine. I got a library of "Need a 4 year college course in metagame knowledge to beat this game" RPG games. I like almost every single one too BUT sometimes, its refreshing to cut out needless b.ullshit and get to the heart of the matter (the gameplay) which this game seems to be delivering.
Besides, it can't be too dumbed down: There's no enemy level scaling. I walked a different path south than I thought I should and ran into a Werewolf. At level 6. F.ucker swiped my head off at about 900 or so HP damage. That right there is a *hardcore* RPG trait. A true dumbed down RPG would mean I can walk into any battle at any power level and have an even footing.
But yeah, this is Steam Hub so its 100% All Hyperbole, All the time.
Oh I hear you.
I have so many games that require full time commitment just to go from the tutorial to the actual game.
I love my complicated, time consuming, stat driven games.
But I don't seem to ever complete them.
There was a time in the past when I could devote all my spare time into gaming.
These days I find a more "dumbed down" game fits well in my life.
I'm not saying that this game is dumbed down as I haven't played it enough to comment on that yet.
But my first impressions are that the gameplay seems pretty straight forward and will scratch my itch for a rpg that doesnt require my first born as compensation to play.
You need to look at the current state of mobile apps.
Not the free to play crap but the premium titles.
You might have a nice surprise as to what you think about mobile games that are available these days.
....and no need to insult the intelligence of players that might like a less complicated game once in a while.
You are welcome to your opinion and your demands.
Though perhaps you might hesitate before buying a game next time.
There are plenty of gaming review sites and YouTube gameplay videos of games that can inform cautious gamers of what to expect from their purchase.
If you choose to ignore that information and still buy a game on the hope that it will satisfy you then you will no doubt be disappointed.
I have learnt that from my own ignorance.
And the old pc vs mobile argument is losing traction.
Look at how mobile games are infiltrating into the pc market and how vice-versa, pc games are being ported to mobile.
Are you going to say that Titan Quest and X-Com are examples of in depth pc games when both have been ported over to mobile?
Can't we all just enjoy games rather than belittle each other because of the platform we choose to play on?
Why do people insist on comparing this to Diablo? It's not an ARPG. Your screen doesn't fill with mobs and damage numbers as you throw out force lightning and spinning great hammer special abilities.
To me the game's closest cousin is Neverwinter Nights (2), in other words a CRPG (and not Baldur's Gate which is about larger party battles and very intricate...everything). Much simpler, but no less grand, and in some ways much better thought out.
This is more like Baldurs Gate and Neverwinter Nights series.
