Officiant and Lunatic achievements
Has anyone worked out how to get either of these achievements yet? I'm totally stumped on how to get these two!

I've managed to get the Officiant on a semi-consistent basis now. (I'm still trying to get the Lunatic one myself) Unfortunately, this isn't a full-on walkthrough, but I hope it helps :)

I think the first three parts are essential, and then there will be a little speculation

First, the key part is to keep Autonomy low. I think it needs to be lower than 12. The reason for this is that if it is high enough, your Robot will build her own robot. You need to keep this from happening.

Second, you need to be single yourself. It seems if your robot builds a kid (as above), or if you are married, this will pre-empt the Officiant ending.

Third, the Cult/Church of your Robot has to exist (whether you started it, or someone else did). The wedding will take part with it.

Speculation/Choices
You may want to focus on Empathy (especially), and Grace (at least above 25). In my 2 playthroughs, I developed the algorithms which stopped war. I was also given the chance to put flaws into robots to put them on a more level field with the humans which I did.

Not that I can confirm it on my own playthrough, but it seems if you get some other special ending (say honored by the White House, or if you have a kid/birthdays, etc.) it will override the Officiant.

Thanks so much! I just got this following your tips. It was the staying single thing that threw me. I think I always assumed this would be an achievement linked to the companion bot storyline, but I got it from pursuing the singularity one in the end. :)

Well, you're welcome. If nothing else, you helped me get the Somethingian Achievement.

Anyways, I just got the Lunatic Achievement, and will detail some of my actions/thoughts on it. Some of this was gleaned on the Choice of Games forums, so hopefully it works for you.

1. You need to have an autonomy of 20 or higher.
2. You can't be married. (Yeah, like the Officiant in that regard).
3. You're robot can't make a child. (Normally, your robot will make a child if they have an Autonomy of 15+...but there is a special circumstance where they don't).
4. You can't supply the US with weapons, and win the war with China/nor control Alaska (this could override the ending).
5. You can't die of the brain embolism at the end. In fact, your best bet is either the first Choice (no surgery) (if you have Humanity of 60+) or let them cut out the tumors (if you had surgical robots built).

So, how do you get a high Autonomy without your robot building a child? Basically, your robot needs to control a large number of robots. The easiest way I found to do this was to develop the algorithms which stop war (Grace of 25+). Eventually, you will get a list of choices of what to do with the robots worldwide...I always give control to my robot. With this scenario, and the above I managed to get the Lunatic Achievement.

I will try tomorrow to duplicate it, but I'm taking a break from this game ^_^

Thanks so much! I just followed your advice and got this. I don't think I've have figured it on my own; I'd been sure it'd have something to do with the reading space opera choice or from when you go stargazing with your companion bot. Cheers for the help you've given me with this, it's been nice to share ideas. I've got all the achievements now and much as I love this game I'm glad to be take a break now as I was starting to drive myself a little crazy with it.

Once again you're quite welcome, Tispity. I think what aggravated me most with the Lunatic Achievement is that it makes little sense; if it had built on space-related choices earlier, then that would be fine, but it doesn't.

And like you, I thought having the Space Faring Achievement, the Space Opera, and stargazing should have made it work.

I tried following lys_xen's tips for getting Lunatic, but I still didn't get it. My robots either rebelled on their own, without letting me choose the Grace path or my robot built a robot child. If I got to the government lab and hacked control to my robot, they still ended up making a child.

I started with the robot singularity dream. Do you think it makes a difference? Can you give any more details? Does anyone else have more tips?

I managed to get it the ending again (I had to do a quick playthrough to make sure I could make it).

I can give a few more details, and hopefully it will work for you. Including the tips I gave above:

1. Go with the robot singularity dream (like you were...I actually got it with the other paths, but this seems easiest).

2. When the FBI/government agents come by and ask you about Elly/Eiji and their citizenship, choose Text Elly to allow her to escape. The FBI will arrest you for this action; let them do so.

3. While in prison, Juliet will offer you freedom if you work for her. Refuse. You want to stay in jail. The reason for this? If you are in prison, and you have a Grace of 25+, you can write the algorithms which stop war.

4. There will come a point where you can do something with all the robots in the world (destroy them, take control for yourself, etc.) Choose to give total control to your bot.

5. Hopefully the rest of the playthrough goes without a problem.

Thanks, Lyx_xen. I got it after 3 more tries. I think part of the problem was that if your autonomy is too high (25+ ?) they rebel automatically. One of them, they did this.

I followed your additional details in the other two, except both times I was freed (early?) by presidential order, so I didn't get Juliet asking me to help.

First time, didn't get surgery at all, and didn't get the ending.

Second time, I had the area removed and got the Lunatic ending.

I can believe that happening. The only reason I mentioned Autonomy being 20+ is someone on the Choice of Games forum actually dug into the code, and saw that was one of the requirements.

I think of all the Achievements, this was definitely the most finicky to get.

Yeah, after a couple of tries, I haven't had any luck getting it either.
Next time someone gets it, could you maybe copy-paste the whole character history here?

Your hints helped me clear it. Like some of the others I was trying to do the Companion Bot Route. Keeping Tammy/Silas happy helps as s/he can found the religion for you.

For Officiant my final stats were:
Autonomy: 9 (In Beta)
Military: 0 (Nonexistent)
Empathy: 54 (Singular)
Grace: 20 (Impressive)

Here are the basic choices I made. There may be other paths.

Chose Companion Bot Dream
Build a Grace based robot (Secondarily Empathy, minimal autonomy)
Went out with Josh and agreed to build Surgery Bots
Showed Josh my bot and suggested Masseuse as a job
Met with Mark and spent the night so he could write a better article
Got fired by Prof Z
Met with Tammy(/Silas) and hired her for Josh's company
Went to work for Josh
Disconnected the bots from the Internet when Tammy found Chinese code
At the start of the robot war I quit the company without taking additional moneys
Helped Tammy hack the database
Let the agents take Elly
Grace/Singularity Ending (Write the Equations)
Yes to Robot Voting
Encouraged the relgion
Encouraged Tammy
Funded Churches
Introduced faults into robots
Basic surgery

There are numerous other choices, but as long as you stick to Maximum Grace, High Empathy, and Minimal Autonomy this will get you there.

Update:
I was able to get it again with some changes. Here is what is the same:
High Grace, Med-High Empathy, Minimal Autonomy
Met with Tammy/Silas and had a friendly outcome
Did not get involved with the war
Helped Tammy
Grace/Singularity Ending
Yes to Robot Voting
Encouraged the Robot Religion
Introduced Faults
Had Surgery (either kind of surgery will work)
