How to DISABLE Chromatic Aberration
Anyway all you need is a hex editor ( i use HxD Editor ).

1. Go to the game installation folder.
2. Make backup of ZOMBI.exe (just in case you screwup)
3. Start your hex editor and open ZOMBI.exe
4. Now search for the word chrom and you will find two sentences about chromatic abberation. The one you need to modify will be named ENABLE_CHROMATIC_ABERRATION.€SQ
5. All you need now is to modifiy the phrase by changing E to D, resulting in DNABLE_CHROMATIC_ABERRATION.€SQ (example http://i.imgur.com/2eC3azv.png)
6. Now save and close the editor and enjoy the game without CA.

Meh this was easier than i thought. Probably wont take long before someone will make a separate custom configurator something.

Personally i like the game more without chromatic abberation. In some games it works well, but in this game it kinda blurs the image. It seems crisper to me without this dumb effect.

Oh wow, this is amazing! there we have it again..players have to fix the lazy dev's work hehe. Thank you for that. I hope somebody makes a Configurator program for this.. since Ubisoft is too lazy to add even Graphic Options

I personally prefer how the game look with chromatic abberation on, but good job finding out a way to turn off for those who prefer off. It should be an option in game.

Such a gross effect for games. I hate how even GTA V and Dying Light had this but you need to use other programs to disable this effect, annoying how lazy devs can be.

It's still forced in Dying Light.. GTA5 can disable it with PostFX set to low which sucks.. it's even worse on Consoles.. there's not a single setting for that :c that's why i'm so annoyed at those dumb devs. Forcing those ugly Effects on us. Payday 2 has it too.. it's a large eye-sore for me.

Great, thank you for the info! :squirtyay:

In other games I don't tend to notice it really, but in ZOMBI I'm noticing it a lot. It seems the trade off is to notice the aliasing more, though (I assume) GPU settings can take care of that - I haven't tried yet.

The Game isn't demanding at all, so you can easily use nvidia's DSR to downsample, if you have a decent Nvidia GPU that is. I can play with 5120x2880 to 2560x1440p downsampled and it still runs at 60+ fps.. but that's with a 1450/8200Mhz Titan X. (playing via Uplay, and now enjoying it a bit thanks to CA disabled. Though it's not as fun as the WiiU version hehe.

Ooh thanks - I'll give that a go. I have a Titan Black so it should be good enough for downsampling this game. It never even occured to me to try - doh!

Yeah, Titan Black should eat this Game also hehe. Even with some DSR. It's the only solution (and i also recommend SweetFX to get rid of the green tint to make it look more realistic) Since Ubisoft is too lazy to add proper antialiasing.

Haha, after seeing CA in this game, I tried to see how my game in Unreal 4 will look with this ON. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it looked blurry and almost gives you a headache at higher settings.

ZOMBI's CA isn't high so it doesn't give you an eye strain but it makes the whole world blurry (same thing happens in UE4 game of mine). This effects looks great when used in in-game videos or cameras for added effect, but using it constantly for player view is a bad idea.

Thanks for the tip, disabling it in ZOMBI now.
FamFamFam Aug 23, 2015 @ 12:57pm
I just disabled it. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the awful Vaseline blurriness is gone, game looks sharp and actually looks like you're playing this at 1080p (or whatever high res you have). Before with CA on it looked like a blurry mess and felt like I was playing 720p on 1080p monitor.

Great find! Your post deserves to be a sticky one, or you should post it in the guides section.

I think most game developers were brought up with consoles, and have never seen a PC, therefore they don't fully believe that they exist. So when post's like this come up, the developer get's very confused and paranoid and goes into hiding.

Living with consoles has you believe that good graphics are a out-of-focus, big splodge of colour and you have to guess what is on the screen.

Is it possible to do something like this to reenable the Lens dirt effect?
