Wish to disable gamepad WITHOUT unplugging it
I use a CH Products Pro Throttle for FPS on my rig and to make a long story short, I need to disable the gamepad in game without unplugging it (as I use JoyToKey) ... any ideas or does anyone know of an INI setting to do this?

Thanks!

Don

Disabling it through Windows device manager does the trick - You'll just have to remember to enable it again after playing.

That's hardly the solution for a throttle.

The problem is that there is the throttle slider on the Pro Throttle (naturally...LOL) and the buttons on it get picked up as joystick buttons which you cannot remap...and disabling it through device manager disables EVERYTHING. So while normally with using JoyToKey I can remap to anything I want but because it picks it up as a controller it screws everything up. When I have had this problem in other games I would just disable the gamepad support, either through an in-game menu or an INI file.

The only games I ever have a problem with are Ubisoft products... :P

I have this problem with Zombi and... some other game I uninstalled because of it. At the menu screen, the item selection continually zips through the choices so I can't actually pick one. These half assed ports cast a gloomy shadow on the industry.

Ok i found a fix for this, works for my 360 controller anyway

http://jotti.org/nox360.zip

Download the zip file and extract all the files into your Zombi installed folder.

the game should now run with the keyboard prompts.

Alas, it did not work for me...LOL I do truly appreciate the help Lord Lucan ... I really thought this would do it. Geez a simple "disable gamepad" works in any other game that I run into this with ... SIGH

Sorry to hear that MB, and yeah a simple disable gamepad would not be hard for the devs to implement, the lazy gits ;)

After testing several scenareos in both Steam and Uplay versions of the game, this workaround fixes the issue every time:
  1. You need to have an active controller/gamepad. Make sure is turned on before launching the game.
  2. Run the game, gamepad prompt appears, use the gamepad.
  3. Turn off the gamepad (disconnect USB or take out the batteries).
  4. Press any keyboard keys and the keyboard prompt will appear.
(Must repeat the procedure every time the game is launched)
