Ubisoft U BROKE SOUND EFFECTS AND MUSIC with your latest patch

It's nice you released a patch after all this time for fixing the crash at startup, even though most of us already circumvented this by blocking the games exe in our windows firewall.

But now the audio in the game is glitching or just absent. Some examples:

- The piano music and the character doing a "sigh" while going to sleep (saving) is not being played

- Loading a save sometimes doesn't play the "WHAAAGHH" zombie noise

- The intro music sometimes doesn't play while loading your game save

- Sometimes the gun sound effects are not being played (shooting/reloading)

- Sometimes the door opening sound in the palace doesn't play

These are some sound bugs i have noticed so far, and im sure theres more.

I have fixed this for myself right now by deleting my local files from the game and replacing them with the files i had from before the last patch, which i had stored on another hard drive (i do this because then i don't need to redownload every game again if i would lose my data)

The only thing i hope now is that the game will not redownload the latest patch every time i play.

Ubisoft could you please fix this???? Some of us still enjoy coming back to this game, but with these missing sound effects it's kinda lame.

Mute Audio/Music bug

I bought this game again on sale only to find out that the game's sounds are now broken and bugged entirely. In some areas of the game it's almost normal until there's a moment wehre something that should be making noise is dead silent or muted.

-Generator has no sound when you turn it on
-Pistol's gunfire sound effects are sometimes non-existent
-Pistol's reloading sounds are occasionally non-existent
-Things like audio from the security monitors are non-existent
-Music upon loading back into a game (the cinematic of your character waking up)
-The alarm from the supermarket is mute unless you are against the door
-Explosions from the red barrels are non-existent (at least from the scaffolding in the first level)

I'm not refunding this game in hopes of a patch since the last update was from this November, but I tried reverting the game back to an older update only for the console to tell me that version of the game is no longer available for download. If anyone has the old game files please let me know because I want to play this game but this PC port is once again getting in the way of that.

Pff ubisoft wont patch it, You think ubisoft does there job? NO, I love this game but this bug is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid. Coming from a true lover of this game I would say just Refund your game.

At least until a Patch is released (Which will not happen)

Like i said in the other topic, only hope is for a modder to find a fix, or to wait until ubisoft fixes it themselves but i'm afraid that wont happen.

If you could get a hold of the game's files from before the patch you can fix it yourself, like i did.

I'm going to make another backup of my game, that's for sure. Chances are this will never be fixed.

I already went to ubisoft's website to report the bug but they are asking for log files and all different kinds of info like "DxDiag and MSInfo" which i don't even know how to get, so i gave up. If anyone has more knowledge about this kind of stuff please go report the bug to their website.

Ok i have just been chatting with someone from ubisoft, there is a chat option on the website, i provided them video evidence of some of the sound effects and music missing. It's the only thing i can do at this point and i hope they'll look into it.

I also sent them your list of issues you provided here.

Hey thank you so much that’s awesome. Sounds like it’s confirmed they’re looking into it. This is genuinely one of my favorite videogames ever and I wanna play it at 60fps widescreen SOOOO bad

I just submitted a case for the complaint, really hoping that this fixes something because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I'm playing it again and I missed it so much

I hope, if it bothers you too much then move to console, i own the game on there but its a shame that its capped to 30 fps and cannot use with keyboard/mouse :(

Like i said, i fixed it myself by replacing the files with the ones from before the patch. But ubisoft needs to fix it themselves.

Unbelievable, ubisoft sent me an email. A good 3 weeks after i sent them all the details. Guess what they asked me, if i can verify the game's files and see if i still have the problem. wtf?! As if i haven't already tried that. Matter of fact i just formatted and reinstalled my whole pc and installed w11 with a fresh steam install and redownloaded the game. Surprise surprise i still have the same issue!

They even have the nerve to include in their email: "We will assume your issue has been resolved if we do not hear from you within four days."

So let me get this straight, they wait almost a month to get back to me and then they expect me to reply within 4 days or the issue will be marked as solved? wtf
